Yet you have bought or will buy an iPhone. Poor student to me defines only having enough money for studies, food and living allowances. iPhone is a luxury item, not an essential item.

I'm a poor student too I eat maggi for dinner 4 times a week and only spend RM 100 a month on food, I buy secondhand books and only stock up on groceries like sabun whenever I go back hometown haha super cheapskate but I guess when we put our minds to it we save up till can buy iphone hungry stomach nevermind at least got iphone haha.

Hey guys,

Just a word of advise once you get your iPhone 5. The sides is now purely aluminum, and no matter how careful you are, you will have minor scratches and scuffs due to the softer aluminum instead of the stainless steel alloy on the iPhone 4/4S, which actually is quite durable.

So get at least a bumper that covers all sides. I had a plastic back case that covers only the sizes but not the bottom and top, now with daily wear and tear (in out from jeans, in bag etc) i can see some slight scratches on the glossy aluminum portion.

On the other hand, LTE is going very sweet (i'm using it in Singapore on SingTel). I have posted some Speedtest on different parts in Singapore. My observations on using LTE on the iPhone 5:

1) IT IS FAST (at least for now). I have downloaded YouTube videos using TubeMate on my HTC One X, using the iPhone 5 as a personal hotspot, max download speed reached 6,500kb/s. 
2) The latency is greatly reduced. Once you request for a URL, you can see it starting to load much quicker.
3) It SUCKS battery life. Especially when you are switching between LTE, 3G and non-3G area. You can literally see the percentage 1% drop a few of minutes. So i only enable LTE when i sit down and start surfing. On normal standby i leave it OFF.

haha i'm on a scholarship so i just save up the allowance given to me plus now i'm working part time. about 3 months plus plus with the few 100 saved every month haha..

if you can save that much means u have not experienced hardship of having no money at all. conclusion you're not poor. also poor students borrow books

i feel sorry for u. wrong priorities in life. health is more important compared to a phone. Ull see the effects of eating maggi 10yrs down the road. Iphone cant and will never be a subsitute for your health.

i suggest u u buy a second hand iphone and maintain a proper food intake instead.

thanks for the concern but it's my preference besides i cook my own food at home (real food like vege and soup) and i don't eat McD or junk food maggi isn't that bad paired with vege or sausages o9n lazy days

i currently subscribe to broadband and I feel that with iPhone if I can go online a lot on phone then I wouldn't need to online at hostel so much (as in social networking) except do research so can save up on topping up my broadband
