hey guys, just got into this as a new hobby.
need your advice on getting some item overseas (US).
from what I read, some members successfully bought some from US ebay seller.
but I have few questions in mind,
1. AFAIK above RM500 (say >USD130) will be required to pay taxes, may I know how much is the tax?
2. Is there a limit to the blade length for folders before it is liable for custom confiscation?
Thanks!

Thanks for the advice KajumaO2.

Paying extra for taxes is bearable, confiscation by customs is not.

Thanks for sharing epsilon_chinwk86!
It might be luck, it might also be due to the first class service.
I'm quite confused as there are sellers that offered very minimal (some are also free) postage fee while there are other that requires substantial amount of postage fee.
Yes, it is due to the better postage service, but why the large difference in pricing? Could it be that it's less of a hassle to handle the importation process?

Hey guys
Did anyone tried to order 2 or 3 knives at one go from gear best? Would there be a problem?
Can't stand the "titanium" coated models, especially the g7533 cf....

The thread seems to be quite dull and bleeding very slowly....
Just to share my experience, you can import fixed blade (not sure up to what blade length). But, be prepared....be very prepared for the accompanied taxes and duties. Some charges are fixed (orders above usd100, and knife import), some charges varies with company (custom clearance help). You may decline post companies for their custom clearance service, and do it yourself at klia if I'm not mistaken for much less.
Multitools are allowed and have their own import taxes if I'm not mistaken.
Folding knives are grey area. I dare not explain further.
Unfortunately, outfitter country changed their policy some time this year.
My advise is, do drop by OGM, or SWAT shop in Starparc point, or Thomastools if you want to get any of those. The price is higher, but the hassle is less.
Just my humble opinion...keep on bleeding
