Wow, I'm surprised we've got a community about knives here!

I used to spearhead a knives, gun parts and lightings shop in an Australian firm some 6-8 years ago. I was heavily enthusiastic about Victorinox's SAK and also Gerber Legendary Blades.

I was sort of a technician back in the days detailing information to assist our Customer Service as well as our Point of Sales peeps and Digital Marketers.

You'd have to know the scenario you're using the knife in, because no knives work the same:

- If you're going for the outdoors, your knives tend to be high in contrast so it stands out in the background to easily look out for.
- You have to know what you would be using it for; if you are multi-tasking for basic and light use, a folding knife with a combi-blade / serrated edge and fine edge one helps the most when it comes to cutting ropes and cutting meat.
- Please do not use a knife to slide down hard wood... The pivot can only resist so much before it breaks.
- If you're using it to cut wires and stuff, get a narrowing tang or stick tang with a rubberised handle to do the job.
- If you're using for the oceans, get a corrosion-resistant knife with a specialised steel / fillet knife

The information goes on and on. Brings back happy memories. smile.gif
