QUOTE(Nosferatu @ Mar 1 2006, 12:03 AM) Using a Gecube 9600XT Extreme Edition. Probably the worst card I've used. Gave me lots of problems..AGP can only run at 4x. Even though I jacked up the AGP voltage up to run at 8x and with AGP Fast Write enabled, lock-ups still occur in-game even with the current Catalyst version lol.. And yea I got the same problem as weirdguy, VPU error message pops up if I tried to run AGP 8x before Catalyst 6.1 anyway. I am beginning to wonder if this card is actually compatible with my motherboard. I've flashed my mobo bios to a later ver. still doesnt help fix these problems =\ Specs are- Asus A7V8x AthlonXP Palomino 2000+ Graphic card and mobo not compatible ? i'm havin the same prob.. bought this card 2yrs ago when it first came out.. sent the card for RMA twice but they still said there was no prob with the card.. can't play any 3D games.. sent it for the 3rd time, they replaced a new card for me.. this time, it can play 3D games, but only at 4x.. it locks up at 8x.. can anybody tell me what is wrong?? i've used this with 3 diff. pcs (diff. mobos and procs), and it's still the same..

QUOTE(GKWong @ Aug 1 2006, 09:41 PM) why not try artic silencer? coolermaster coolviva is not tat good... yup.. considered that too.. but, CM's CoolViva cools both sides of the card and so as TT's Extreme Giant III.. AC's ATi Silencer 2, Zalman's Fatal1ty FS-V7 and TT's TideWater only cools the GPU side of the card (correct me if i'm wrong) although, the Fatal1ty FS-V7 comes with extra ramsinks for the bga rams in the package.. some aftermarket coolers for your Radeon 9600XT.. 1) ThermalTake TideWater Water Cooling System2) ThermalTake Extreme Giant III3) CoolerMaster CoolViva4) Zalman Fatal1ty FS-V75) Arctic Cooling ATi Silencer 2This post has been edited by termignoni: Aug 2 2006, 10:59 PM

guyz.. i've a question for anybody that is using the Omega drivers for their 9600XTG-C3 128MB.. i'm experiencing lock-ups rite now when i'm surfing, watching movie or just leaving it at idle.. it resets the drivers then the desktop icons, YM icons and even my avatar and title in LYN is blurred.. is it juz the drivers or my card is coming to the end of its life??

QUOTE(chamelion @ Aug 28 2006, 10:38 PM) Done that too. Btw if i unistall everything and boot without any driver, WinXP will run in 800x600 32bit. If install Ati driver or Omega, it will only display 640x480 4 bit. Everytime when click Apply or Ok, the setting seems not save by display properties Win XP clean install and fully patch. did u install the correct version of the omega drivers for ur GC??

a very sad day today... my 3yr old friend, my ATi Radeon 9600XTG-C3 passed away peacefully alongside its soulmate CM's CoolViva at 2:37am..
autopsy was conducted immediately and concluded that the core was chipped at the edge resulting in the early symptom of the unability to play 3D-Games..
the card was put to rest today at 3:00pm in its original box, sealed with an anti-static bag and kept on top of the 'hall-of-fame' cupboard together with its predecessors..
may u rest in peace..
