Hi I wanted to ask is Xbox360 NEED to update to new version after few months? (2/3months)
cause everytime we send back to the game shop, they always ask us pay money for update for the latest version.
and now they ask my bro to change the inside thingy that cost RM300 if don't change then can't update.

my question .
1 ) is Xbox 360 a must for update?
2 ) if I don't update what will happen to my bro's xbox?
3 ) my bro said if no update then he cam't play the latest cd. Then why xobx wants to create such thing to cost customer everytime wants to play their new game?

really really need help badly, cause my bro still young, he know nothing about it. just neeed some pro to clear us the situation. THANK YOU!! ?

I presume you're talking about a modded console then yes you have to update every now and again or else MS will brick your console.

Most of us here tend not to go modded because of this fact. Rather than paying RM300 to change something internally and paying an update fee all we have to do is just sit back and play our games.

With respect upon you I suggest ditching that modded console and going original, it will be less of a hassle and you dont need to keep paying the dude for services like updating your modded software.

I don't think it's worth pirating. With a rise in cost in developing AAA, and masive slowdown of gaming market. MS will contantly update the system to protect others interest.

I don't think he/she even knows what a modded console is or what game piracy is. Note how he/she thinks that this is the decision or the doing of Microsoft?

To the creator of this topic, your Xbox 360 is modded, meaning that the insides of the console has been modified for it to play pirated aka fake games. An original game costs around rm100.

Those who never modify their consoles and does not play pirated games on their xbox 360 does not need these "updates".

To protect their investment? If you developed a software, for example, would you just let your software get pirated or release a mandatory updates to throw away piraters? If you don't want such cost then go play original.
