Details of the complaint : Lied about Samsung E600c warranty from FMG.

- Sold me Samsung E600c with faulty infrared, but claim that the machine warranty 18 months ending 18/02/06. Asked me to bring to FMG to repair faulty infrared.

- I brought it to FMG, but they said the phone only have 12 months warranty which ended 18/08/05. Which means I cannot get warranty for the faulty infrared.

- Called seller -chongkiat-, he's back at hometown. Nothing can be done to fix faulty phone. Fine, continue to use without infrared function.

- After using until 23/01/06, phone goes dead. Fail to power on at all. -chongkiat- refusing to answer to call and sms.

I bought the phone after being told that it's under warranty, then found out the hard way that it's faulty and no more warranty. I just hope the forumer be honest about warranty issue.

It seems like I have thrown RM350 into longkang now since the phone cannot be used at all now.

UPDATE
I've sent the phone to Samsung service centre with the help of chongkiat, and now getting it fixed.

Ya, the guy was nice when I deal with him. I found out that the infrared is not working when testing during COD. Then I was told that it's still under warranty so I can fix it in FMG for free.

I took it to FMG and was told that it's only 12 months warranty. So I called the seller to verify. He agreed to send me the warranty card stating 18 months warranty to me but until now, have been ignoring calls and sms.

Then it gets worst, the phone he sold cannot be switched on as well. After changing the battery, also the same, cannot switch on. I have many Samsung chargers, but all cannot charge. So I took the phone to Sg Wang there to check again, confirm the phone is faulty and need RM160 to repair.

Not to accuse him of escaping from responsibility but if he's not hiding, why ignore my calls?

Also, time passes real fast. If it's really 18 months as claimed, the warranty will end in 2 days.

If I really repair it, means I paid RM350 + RM160 = RM510 for Samsung E600c shakehead.gif

I guess he did that coz he claimed that there's this warranty card stating 18 months.

But I checked, the IMEI and Serial number in the sticker shows only 12 months warranty (the guy shown me the database after searching in his pc, it's really 12 months only).

So, no matter how.. I will fix the phone for RM160. This phone was bought for my dad. My mom and dad supposed to be using couple phone during valentine, but this spoils it all..

Sigh.. check my trade list.. I've bought a pair Samsung E600c for my parents!!

Yes, you did not promise that you will give me one coz you said I just need to show the FMG sticker at the back of the phone to the service centre and they will fix it.

I did not say that the phone is not from FMG. I just wanna verify why you claim that it is still under warranty when it is not?

I have been lenient, I only contacted you again when big problem occur which is when the phone cannot be switched on at all.

Yup, the infrared confirmed faulty at the time of COD coz I tried to infrared contact details from Samsung to Samsung.

He said he cannot find it, but will try to find it later. At that time, he gave me 7 days personal warranty so that I can contact him if anything happens.

I contacted him within the 7 days personal warranty, but he's back in hometown and cannot do anything.

Dear seller, why give 7 days personal warranty if you know that you won't be in KL during that period?

Samsung to Samsung wo..

I tested with D500c, E700c, and my mom's E600c. All also cannot jalan.

But from my D500c to my mom's E600c, can jalan. Means the phone chongkiat sold to me have a faulty infrared and confirmed that it's faulty during COD. I accepted it coz I thought can warranty, end up can't.

Now the problem is not infrared. The phone is dead now, cannot be switched on at all.

Why when I call using my cellphone, nobody answer.. when I call using my office phone, the seller answer and then keep quiet after hearing my voice?

Read the attached files clearly, u go to FMG and they tell u 12 months warranty that is your business.

My warranty cards says 18 months and u r cheated by FMG, what business it gotta do with me????

Consider the problem partially solved.
I understand that it's just a misunderstanding so now try to solve it the peaceful way.

P/S: I went to 2 authorized FMG service centre before deciding to bring it to third party shop. Just to clarify that I did not go directly to third party shop.

Yup yup.

chongkiat is sending the card over to my office right now. Hopefully I can get it settled first thing tomolo morning (18th Feb) phew...

Luckily I wasn't for the power up problem, it appears that the keypad or something like that got problem which is why I cannot power up. But they ordered already the spare part to fix my phone.

Anyway, make the story short, I manage to reason with the repair guy and get back my phone without being charged.

This time I will be bringing the warranty card straight to the service center at berjaya, and will smack it to their face vmad.gif

Hi all, update on status.

Yesterday went to samsung service centre in Berjaya Times Square again, give the phone to the same person again. This time I've shown them the warranty card stated 18 months at the back. He cannot deny it, he then test the phone again.

I complain that sometimes after off it, it's hard to power up. The third party shop just fixed the keypad there (according to the technician, he just dusted the keypad) and told me that the keypad is a bit faulty that's why power button failed to work. So I request to fix it or change the keypad or something.

The guy's attitude is very teruk la, didn't even look at my face when talking to him coz he malu already ma.

I saw a lady there, around late 30s, so I called her. Then I ask her who is the person in charge there. She said it's her wo. Ok, then I told her why was I told that this phone only have 12 months warranty. She said all Samsung phones confirm have 18 months liao without fail.

Ok, I told her that I was taken for a spin by this young guy who is holding my phone. Then she said he's new, so any mistake please be forgiven etc etc. Fine lor... he's new ma.. forgive him lo..

The phone is expected to be ok next week. So we'll see how.

Lucky I bring my laptop there also, coz after work ma. Can show him that I can't sync the phone with my laptop on the spot, so cannot deny that the infrared is also sot sot.
