The relatively polished Nokia apps and twice the storage capacity are what drove me to the 920. I test-driven a colleague's 8X and I like the thin profile of it all, but the display quality and the built-in apps aren't that enticing.

Htc 8x owner for a week. So far i hav to say im quite happy with my phone.
I dun usually do much with the phone besides calls, sms, watsapp communication during work, pictures and browsing. Dont game with the phone (pc for gaming only plz =P )

So far the experience have been great! the ui is simplistic and layout is straightforward. there's not much animation tbh (heck! the loading bar is just 5 small dots flashing horizontally thru the screen!), which may explain the butter-smooth response of the phone.

So far i'd not encounter one single lag on the phone, fb, youtube etc. there's some hick-ups once in a blue moon but i think thats more of a connection problem.

As for the cons.... well, the battery. so far it can last till nite time with moderate surfing and watsapp. (dey say it ll get better once the battery optimizes itself, so i ll just see. i do wish it could b longer.

And another thing... have u seen this gorgeous phone? (i had to admit i fell in love the first sight lol) so far lots of ppl r complementing on the design of the phone. its freaking thin and just sits rite in your palm.
BUUUTTTT, theres a drawback, it looks fragile. and frm the report i'd read ard the forums, the corners of the glass WILL CRACK if you not careful enough. I dropped my phone once from a 1 m tall table, luckily it landed on the backside of the phone. i wouldnt dare imagine what will happen if it landed on the glass side. PLUS id read about the colors on the corner of the phone faded/gets dirty easily.

Tldr,
pro: its simplistic ui, totally lag free, and most importantly, its gorgeous!
cons: its looks fragile, drop it n u ll cry. Corners getting dark, battery is on the low side.
Btw, id seen both htc 8x n lumia 920, hardware wise, 920 is def the better phone, but heck, love the 8x design so much i think the tradeoff is worth it.

Sounds r ok. beats amp r ok, but to my ears its just buffed up bass (making it punchier etc) n some changes in the mid, the tradeoff is sound neutrality n clarity. im sure some basshead will prefer the extra base. you can off it if u want.

I noticed some perks on the headphone jack tho. im using my sennheiser hd203 n the sound from it is ok. but when i plug in my rewired ksc75 (recabled by pcworks) i noticed that the sound is off when i on the beats amp. im not sure why but i think that mayb due to slightly diff plug head used by pcwork.
If you see a 8x, the headphone jack on the side is slightly curved, means part of the headphone jack is not totally inside the inlet. mayb thats causing the issue?
Htc does giv u a headphone.. but dat one u can throw away. =)

Can anyone please explain to me the umobile x8 package??? Because i dont understand why the u28 package have to pay rm129 per month while the u88 also paying rm132 per month?

The starting fee of u88 and u28 is almost the same.

So my question is, if the fee is almost the same, why would dey have so many packages? seems to me theres almost no difference in price if u get u88 or u28?

because u will get bond for 24 months ... if you want to void the contract u will get penalty kaw kaw

they reduce the phone price but they will take u more upfront payment but reduce the phone price ...U28 = 3 months ..U58 = 5 months (thats why u can see the gap in between U28 and U58 per month easy payment amount is same)

that mean your first or last 5 months internet charges will be deduct from the upfront payment

then when u make a call or sms ..will be charge u separately

U28 = 28x24 + 1459 = compulsory payment for u to pay (exclude call and sms) =2131 (1gb data)

U58 = 58x24 + 1259 = 2651 (2gb data per month)

u28 = free some sms

U58 = free some call

What about GPS/Map function?
Using Nokia Maps? Bing Map?

Got Turn-by-turn navigation? . . . or just map only?
