QUOTE(tigerporc @ Sep 30 2012, 04:04 PM) Bought it, Camera ZOOM FX as a camera is really bad replacement for the stock S III Camera as far as pure Camera performance/features is concerned; however once you download the free addons, it is a really FUN photo app - add in famous buddies (e.g. Simon Cowell with a thumbs down), vintage polaroid etc... I agree. i like the choice of only downloading what you need and you dont have to have a lot of add ons that you may not use. I end up only adding 3 add ons or so. No need to bloat the app any more than needed. |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Sep 30 2012, 07:15 PM) Why must you trottle down all your smart and rich features. If i were you..i just buy a spare battery and let all the features enable (excluding power saving of coz). We buy an expensive smartphone. Let all the features on and enjoy it I fully agree with you. Long lasting is nice but enjoying your expensive full featured phone is much more important.QUOTE(YouDontKnowMyName @ Sep 30 2012, 08:10 PM) That one i kena few times thats why i always have spare office and car charger unless you totally no access then have to fully activate your battery saving features and turn off everything (Fortunately for me personally thats quite rare) |

Jb (jailbreak not jelly bean) devices are usually not very stable no matter what if compared to un jb device. Rooted android however, if you stick with stock rom is extremely stable. That is what i understand. I think that should be the biggest consideration when considering what os to commit to.

By the way, does anyone practise regular rebooting (every couple of days or daily)? I heard an urban myth that if we do regular rebooting then the phone can be smoother as it gets rid of some junk and running processes?

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Oct 1 2012, 10:01 AM) It's a one time kill after you set up your default launcher. Does the home manager icon remain at the notification permanently? I found the setting to remove the quick switcher but i still have the home manager icon there. Its distracting since i dont use it often, i switch and i stay with it. Anyway to remove it fom the notification? If you want to use TW again..just reverse the step. Set default at TW then kill Nova. Easy as abc Thanks |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Oct 1 2012, 10:17 AM) You can disable the notification. Thank you. Open the Home Manager app > menu button > setting > disable notification and quick switcher Missed that. Haha. Selective blindness. Added on October 1, 2012, 10:44 am QUOTE(chewlf @ Oct 1 2012, 10:10 AM) QUOTE(waveweaver @ Oct 1 2012, 10:14 AM) Yes..you can freeze TW using Titanium. It just that i sometimes switching launchers so i'm using switcher. I hates rebooting my phones unless it become really necessary such as FC or app freezing. Rebooting will only drain your battery as all the running apps will start building up their caches again. Gallery oso will start scanning all the contents again QUOTE(ramz @ Oct 1 2012, 10:14 AM) in my 4 months having this phone i only need to reboot twice. that also force reboot coz hang. i don't see any performance degradation between reboots. so my answer is no need. if need samsung would make it a SOP. or just do it for you automatically when u are asleep. Thanks for the opinions. I just realised that a couple of times (rare) my phone becomes a zombie. Battery drains and when i check it it seems that it is awake all the time. Didnt go to sleep probably some rogue app or process keeping it awake. Rebooting solves it. Since it is so rare, didnt feel the urge to install BBS to check out which is the culprit, so thats why i thought maybe regular reboot will avoid this from happening at unfortunate moments. This post has been edited by wynx: Oct 1 2012, 10:44 AM |
