Yes to me. To prevent scratches..
*
was thinking about that too... how much was yours?

QUOTE(samurai1337 @ Oct 1 2012, 10:21 AM)
It has corning glass, so unless you're doing heavy duty stuffs you probably don't need it

Some people like to use it for extra protection, I usually don't, for better feel while swiping
*
never used such glass screen before, so normal usage (human finger, wipe with spectacles cloth) should be okay?

in normal temperature the swiping was good, but in a/c room, it feels sticky.

might just want to get one, maybe just for anti glare and smoother swipe perhaps..
but even for a google tablet, nexus7's accessories still hard to come by. most shop sell samseng and epal brand only

The problem is that I have both now and I need to sell either one so am in a quandary...
*
do you have a mobile phone? (android/ios phone)
if you do then i'd say let the 7.7 go.
or else, let the n7 go sad.gif

Added on October 1, 2012, 11:31 amis there any vibration alert on N7?

Do senheng sells the 8GB version?
Hope to buy the 8GB version as it is not so expensive.
It should have been sold at RM699 instead of RM799 sad.gif

8GB is not officially coming to malaysia

you can always get the 8gb from grey importers anyways.

and you can't get the price at 699 dead, people have to pay taxes and shipping charges too.

well even if they have 3G/sim card slot i still wouldn't buy it.

imo tablet should not use as a phone. damn putting a 7 incher next to your face is ridiculous. you might say well can use bluetooth headset mah... well i don't want to bring around a 7 incher in my pocket either, or carry along a sling bag, or carry along like a book, just no.

hence i have a phone, and it have something call = "tethering" so that my tablet can online too.

but then "why would you buy nexus 7 then?"
reason is (1) it's a nexus (2) reading (3) android gaming (4) cheap (999 is cheap alright stop complaining)

Just wanted to ask about before buying the Nexus 7.
Seriously Im considering the whether to get the Nexus 7 or to get the new Ipad, budget is not a constrain in fact I need something will be doing good for me to read slides and such.
Ok there is actually one questions to ask,I have heard that some of the Nexus has some hardware manufacturing default, like the glass pops out at one side of the tab,the screen that breaks very easily.Wanted to ask,how frequent is that ? Anyone of the user here suffering from this issue ?
*
for reading it depends on where are you gonna read your material. if just on your desk then ipad is much better than N7. IMO if reading on the couch, on the bed, or anywhere else better off with N7. it is lighter so it wouldnt break your hands while you read. screen is not much an issue, since most paperbacks also roughly the same size with the N7.

manufacturing defects, mostly on earlier batches. latter batches seems dont have the problem anymore (well at least mine was okay, C9O).

my screen breaks all the time and i had to change a new coat of glass everyday... just kidding.
the screen of N7 is corning fit glass, where the ipad's was only normal glass with oleophobic coating (i have no idea what that is). N7's screen feels solid and tough, i dont think it'll break unless you drop it / put a lot of force on it, anyway, which screen wouldnt break if you do so eh?

For those who are still waiting for the  OTA update, you can follow below instruction to get quick update.

1. Go to Settings -> Apps -> All

2. Find Google Services Framework.

3. Tap on Force Stop.

4. Select Clear Data.

5. Head back to the Nexus 7’s Settings, go to About, and check for a System Update.

I had to try 4-5 times to finally get the OTA update.

So be patient and good luck!

way to go asus rclxms.gif
Now that's international warranty done right.
N7 not available in china, unit grey import from hong kong, exploded when charging but yet still replace a new unit to the owner.
