Do I need to master reset again to claim for the $25 credit? Please direct me a method without master reset. Thanks.

Added on September 24, 2012, 9:48 amBtw, my Nexus 7 screen has screen flickering issue, anyone have the same problem?

I've found out from Mr google that weak wifi signal might cause screen flickering on nexus 7. What should I do?

Please 1st check if your Google Wallet account has the home country set as US.

1. Go to http://www.google.com/wallet/
2. Sign in with your Google account (the one that you're gonna use it on your Nexus 7)
3. Click on the Setting button on the top right (right next to the Help button)
4. Click the Edit button at your home address and then change the country

Added on September 24, 2012, 10:01 am

This is only for the credit card but not the Google Wallet account.
*
Why can't I change the country?
Unfortunately, users with a Google Play balance or a Checkout Merchant account are unable to change the country. Any idea why??

I clicked on the DEVICES, then I received this message -> You haven't activated Google Wallet on any devices.

I'd bought a few apps not long ago....

You won't be able to if you have already activated your Nexus 7 and claimed the $25 credits.

I guess you won't be able to use the credit to purchase in the Play store now.
*
?? I already activated my Nexus 7, but not yet claimed the $25 credits, btw, it has nothing to do with changing my default country right? I am able to change the shipping address. But not the home address..

Hi guys, I have refreshed the page and try again, now it is working. Should I follow the steps suggested at the link below to claim my $25.

http://www.shahz.net/android/25-dollars-go...outside-us.html

Any better suggestion?

Because you haven't install Google Wallet on your Nexus 7 and activate it. This is Google Wallet on mobile device. It's a different 1.

If you have successfully purchased apps with the $25 credit then what's the problem now?
*
:S, I purchased a few apps with my credit card lar... Not the claimed $25.

You should get the credit once you activated your Nexus 7. You should have receive the credit already.

To check, go to http://www.google.com/wallet/ then Payment Method, see if you have Google play balance in the list.
*
Btw, activated meant sign up with google account? Previously I have activated the device without trying to claim the $25. Am I still able to claim it now?

If you dont have $25 Google play balance listed in your Payment method, then you can start following the guide to get the credit.

$25 will be credited to your account immediately once you have activated your Nexus 7 on a US VPN. You mentioned that you have activated once. But, I guess it wasn't through a US VPN.
*
Yes, so now I have to master reset first right? before I try to activate again through a US VPN?

the screen flicker happens when wifi signal is low, and screen brightness low.
tune up the brightness and its ok.

not really an issue for me, my wifi signal is strong. :-)
how bad is your flicker? i have to go out of my house in the night only i notice the flicker,
very mild flicker every second, barely noticeable.
*
The flickering is not very bad, it is just like a horizontal refresh line that happen randomly across the screen, sometimes it happens every 5 minutes, but no matter what, IT DOES happen....

Anyone can open the back cover of their C80 unit to see whether it's true that there are actually 2 screws missing? This is interesting.

Screen lift may possibly be important if it becomes bad enough. As in, you can easily spot the lift without going blind trying. Whenever you slip the tablet into a fitted case (those with the case edges covering the bezel) or just put in a simple pouch and chuck the thing in bag or something, the screen may experience uneven pressure. This may possibly result in a cracked screen. Not to mention a lot of gunk and dust may slip in. I am no engineer, just using my 5 sen logic...

Shit, mine is C70...

Guys, now I am at the steps to run google play, it prompt for 2 selections, Existing or New, which 1 should I choose?

-->>>>
Now, run Google Play. It will ask you to add a credit card. Just use your local credit or debit card (it worked with my Maybank debit card too). Leave the country as US, insert the postcode as 10002 and phone number as (212)9255599. Once it validates, you will get $25 credited to your account.
When making purchase, in the payment details, select Google Balance and it will deduct from it. Oh, and feel free to remove the debit card or credit card that you added earlier.
Thats it! Pretty simple isnt it? Good Luck! smile.gif

I can't decide on whether to sell my 7.7 and keep my N7 or vice versa.  I don't need the back camera.. Just the 3G factor
*
For me 3G is still OK. because you can use hotspot fro your mobile phone, P1 to go, Yes, or MIFI.. But I wish there is a Micro SD.

Added on October 1, 2012, 10:26 amHey guys, my screen still has flickering problem, anyone bring back to Asus service center for this problem? Did they manage to fix the problem?
