hey guys, how's the Nexus 7 for refering notes to? Lecturers are refusing to print notes starting this sem, so considering a Nexus 7 for this purpose. As in, versus a 10". Might do some testing this weekend, but would love input from seasoned users.

Hey guys, is the Nexus 7 good at handling documents? As in, smoothness and all. Specifically PDFs, PPTs and .doc. How do they compare to the iPad (which is undeniably the benchmark)? As in, is it smooth while panning around? Pinch zooming? Flipping pages?
On my Galaxy Nexus, they all appear to take some time to render. ezPDF Reader has a crazy long rendering time, while Adobe Reader is still ok. So I was wondering if it's a hardware thing (Galaxy Nexus vs N7 vs iPad) or an app thing (diff PDF reader). If there's an app that can handle documents smoothly I'd gladly consider, coz I've invested too much into the Android ecosystem, and would hate to start all over again on iOS.

Whoah thanks guys for the opinions. Keep forgetting that iTunes is a POS. Really dun want to go thru iTunes to load stuff.
As for PDF reader, did some testing as well. Found another app called Rimage PDF Reader that has quite similar performance to Mantano. Both are smooth pdf readers.
Now hopefully I can locate a demo unit N7. Can't decide whether the 7" or 10" form factor when it comes to tablets...

erm, big-ish problem here.
I just got the Nexus 7 from un_id. I flashed the 4.1.2 factory image and stuff. Everything went well, until...
I tried to root it. Nexus 1 click doesn't do anything. It fails to mount /system as r/w, so everything else fails from there (failed to push su, fails to push a lot of things). Ended up cannot root.
Tried many times, still cannot. I fastboot flash recovery clockworkmod.imng manually also cannot. This thing just refuses to boot into recovery.
So, erm... Help?
Fastboot and ADB installed properly, if that helps.

LOL saw my problem. The factory image I flashed was too new. JZO54K. The MPSKIP Nexus toolkit was only able to flash JZO46K. The insecure image weren't compatible in the first place. If I knew wugfresh's toolkit worked with JZO54K you wouldn't see me going thru the next 2 para... For some reason the 3.41 bootloader included in the JZO54K image just won't boot into recovery. Found that out after flashing recovery more than 10 times and had me thinking the recovery partition was corrupted or something. Thankfully this post saved me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...1928915&page=18Had to reflash the old 3.34 bootloader to boot into recovery, from there flashed CM10 and GApps, and I was gold! Phew!
