You might wrongly configured your Wallet, I've done couple of refunds paid by Google Play Balance (aka USD25 Gift).

Here is one of the example..., the amount spent was credited back to my account.

You may need to try couple of times to make the recovery stick.

Let see if your Grouper can boot into recovery...

1. Unplug USB and reboot to system mode; normal booting.
2. Plug in USB to another port and make sure your Grouper is in Debugging mode.
3. If you've successfully flash permanent recovery, press "Launch" under Advanced Utilities. In Quick Tools with ADB-Device On selected, press Reboot Recovery.
4. If you did temporary recovery in previous try, you may choose Custom Recovery under Boot Temporary menu.
5. If it still fails, you may need to run Initial Setup again and make sure you pass Step 3 with flying colors.

I did encountered this issue but I can't recall how to overcome it. I do remember that I did reboot the PC, change the USB port couple of times, rerun Initial Setup then it can boot into recovery. BTW, I flashed the recovery permanently.

If you're familiar with Fastboot command, you can shorten the troubleshooting.

So far my experience with my Nexus 7 C70 was wonderful. The only thing missing is 3G connectivity. To overcome this shortcoming, I've been scouring on the net, try to find is there any solution available for it and found out one application called PPP Widget which works as expected.

Infos from the developer forum only stated Huawei or ZTE modems, finding a compatible modem was a quite challenging. Today, I bought a Huawei 3G modem to try it out to see if the application able to link up my Nexus 7 to the 3G network.

The requirements are...
1. Root access is mandatory
2. "Superuser" app needs to be installed (usually comes with rooting tools)
3. Needs at least Android 3.1 for automatic mode, 2.2 for manual mode

My setup...
1. Faux Kernel 011m
2. AOKP Build 3
3. Chainfire SuperSU
4. Samsung OTG cable
5. Huawei E353 HSPA+ modem

The Result...

wow great post...now nexus 7 also can use 3g...that's good new eventhough need 3g modem like china brand do, but still can use 3g...can u post details on how to install and setup the device as easier as u can...hope u can help...

I've updated my previous post to include link from Google Store. So far it just need rooted ROM. Actually it is not a real app you can find in the app drawer after installation, it is just a widget.

1. Download the app
2. Give the root permission
3. Press configure and set the APN, Username and Password. I did change the default dialing number from *99***1# to *99#
4. Connect the modem and press connect.

I lost my DLink 3G modem so I can't test on this modem. Huawei is the replacement. I did survey LYN forum and most of the feedback says the modem is actually good and better than Option or Sierra.

Too bad. I just tested using 4G dongle - Yes broadband. It did not work. sad.gif

I think 4G is LTE network and it might work differently than GSM.

Forgot to mention that it does not work with pin lock sim card. Need to disable that first.

I just bought N7 today and then at home I realize it is C60 batch.
so, should I change to c90 batch?
I heard that old batch got many problems
*
C60 was the early batch, so most complaints come from this lot. If yours is good, then no need to change and btw, you really need to find a fault if you wanted to change it. They do not simply replace it because of batch number. So, find fast and find hard for the fault. wink.gif

whats the common problems on this batch?

only screen flicker?

something that I just realized is after I watch 720p video using mxplayer, the screen flicker for awhile.

It is a problem or it is changing its brightness
*
Here some that I can remember...
1. Screen lift on the left side (worst if it emitted popping sound when pressing it)
2. Bleeding backlight (rare)
3. Digitizer issue (rare)
4. Speakers busted (rare, depends on usage)
5. Uneven shading / gradient (rare)

I see. No wonder just now I can't find any display unit. Any shop has display unit?

Try Best Denki or at the IT shops area. Else, Harvey Norman at Ikea.

Seems like the only solution is to get into a shop and try everything out upon purchase..

Screen popping up is hard to notice during unboxed. It will be lucky for you if you can find it. Mine popped up after a few days using it.
