no idea.. 14, 15" maybe..

u should start doing some window shopping my friend... then u'll find the steering wheel u desire... thumbup.gif

Where?Usually it comes with installation as well right?
So far the only steering I've seen is 13.8",so not much difference with the stock steering right?
I saw some nice momo 13.8" steering.
But I just want to get a normal cheap one maybe like your RM50 one,as my old iswara is old and not worth selling it off,so keeping it and meanwhile looking for one 2ndhand car, maybe a Waja.

it makes LOTS of difference once it's installed. tell you what my friend, go find a friend whose car already changed to smaller steering. test drive it and imagine using it without power steering.
*
Hm..In that case, maybe I should just change to power steering and then change a new steering.Which size is nice? 13"?

Btw,do you know any place around PJ that does power steering at a reasonable price?
Since that you are familiar in this line, can you tell me how much is considered as reasonable for power steering?

Actually I need advice from all here:

I have a 12 yrs old Iswara and thinking of selling it to get another car.
The problem is it does not worth much right? Roughly how much?

If it does not worth much,I think I'll keep it but what car should I go for?
Prefer 2ndhand and budget below RM40k.Prefer to get something around 1.6 or 1.5,affordable maintenance and fuel.

So in that case,i think I would rather keep it and use it for nearby drive.

So,next, which 2ndhand car do you all think that I should get for below RM40k budget,so far in my mind is :

-Proton Waja
-Hyundai Accent
-Toyota Corolla
-Kia Spectra

These are a few to name which are within my budget and meet my expectations.

Toyota SEG AE110/111
*
QUOTE(p0ser @ Mar 13 2007, 07:34 PM)
Go for the newer model of AE111. The one with crystal head lamps and tail lamps.

It is around 48k for a 7 year old car.

if ur current engine health still good, try out weber lo... but u must be enthusiast about it... means learn how to tune and know how it works... try take it as a hobby.... if u buta-buta use, abit susah la... coz not many mech knows how to tune it.... sweat.gif
if u want less hassle, go for engine transplant la... 4g15 efi engine good upgrade lo... will be more expensive than using weber....
good choice... thumbup.gif
*
Haha..Good choice but it's over my budget.
Any recommendation for others?

Btw,what are the repairs/upgrades that I can do for my Iswara?

This one looks big..lol
I prefer something smaller,my friend's Saga has got a small one,nice.

QUOTE(ceo684 @ Mar 14 2007, 07:22 PM)
Wont cost much more than a proton maintainance, shocks also not too expensive
*
You sure won't cost much?
We're comparing between a Toyota and a Proton.
Now I'm also considering Gen2,maybe a 2004 or 2005 Gen2.

shhhh.... whistling.gif
sure ler... saga iswara is the low cost proton... vr end of their production line... they dont even bother to do publicity for it....
this is why they dont wanna fit rear disc brake, efi engine, and other stuff available in wira or waja because they wanna keep the cost low and maintainence fee low...

but petrol high la... coz nothing to do with proton mah.... tongue.gif

dun too small la... later parking also susah....
too small, steering feedback less... less responsive... vr dangerous...

big big steering good mah... can stop u from flying out of ur windscreen during crash.... icon_rolleyes.gif

*
lol.. We're talking about the old Corolla maintenance.

Btw,advisible to get what size steering?
The stock one too big,can touch my lap already..lol

shouldn't be a problem.. the only thing is you cant rotate the tires front to back when u do alignment.
I dont know what size steering i'm using, but dont use the smallest one, coz it looks ugly for a sedan like saga. what i did was, i go to the shop, ask for the smallest steering they have, and then i'll get 1 size bigger than that 1.  thumbup.gif
*
Haih..A lot of money involved.
Power steering + new steering wheel = approx. RM800

another 2ndhand car RM40k

dude... why the headache... it all depends on how long u plan to use the saga/iswara. if you're looking at driving it for another 5 years, i don't see why u cant fork out rm800 for the power steering. The saga/iswara can also be used as a family/2nd car, so go ahead and get yourself the 2nd car u want.  rclxm9.gif

by the way, the 40k u budgeted for 2nd hand car is goin to be under loan right? why not spare rm800 for the poor saga..  thumbup.gif

By the way, anyone knows how much is the price for saga/iswara 1.3 water pump with installation? I already knows roughly how much the belt cost... so looking at changing the water pump as well. Tq..  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Partly CASH,partly loan..I guess..

RM800 a lot of money leh..
Btw,any of you all tried driving with a smaller steering on a non power steering car?
I have yet to try so no idea how it's like?
How tough is it?

I do..my steering is 13" i think.looks smaller than stock definitely.yes,no power steering.and im luvin it.some more 15" tyres but i dont feel it heavy.just need getting use to it bro.and the skill counts too.dont turn it while ur car at complete standstill.move a bit then u'll feel it a lot lighter.look at it this way,u can save time on exercise too

infact i've never thought of fitting power steering and never will
*
Yes,cause the stock one looks ugly..Thinking of just changing it to a nicer steering but remain the size or slightly smaller.Do you mind posting a pic of how it looks like so we might be able to see the size?
No point for me to spend RM800 on PS for an old car.
Btw,what's the size of our stock steering? 14" or 15"?

QUOTE(the_catacombs @ Mar 15 2007, 01:56 AM)
haha... dun worry... can use it as deco mah.... tongue.gif
iswara also got alot of potential mah...
but must do alot only can handle the potential la...  sweat.gif
about 13" or 14"??... dunno leh..
stock standard size good mah... jz change a better looking one enough lor... maintain the size can adi.... thumbup.gif
*
That's why must check what size is the stock one then I can change.
Change to something nicer looking.
