Hi all,

Anyone knows which Service Center is best serve for Prius C in Klang Valley? Thx.
*
There are many criteria. Most of the basic services are the same. May be some give more freebies than the others, better environment, etc.

I went to Jalan Sungai Buloh SC twice. The staff there is quite polite. The SC serves free-flow of nasi lemak, kuih, coffeee, Milo if you go in the morning. Do not know about other times. They gave me an umbrella during my second service, not the first one. If you go on Saturday, my advise is to skip the free car wash as you will probably need to wait for 2 hours after the 40min car service (total about 3hr wait). Not worth waiting.

OK thanks. So worth tinting prius c or not?  Would like some tinting, not too dark though. Don't want to pay large sum but want a decent quality good price.
*
Actually you can turn off the air recirculation function off before you turn off your engine. This will allow hot air to escape, thus reducing the heat and also smell in the car

On Eco Score screen, I usually score 4 or 5 bar on START, with a careful braking, I could score 4 or 5 bars also on STOP. However, I had never scored more than 3 bar on CRUISE.

How could I score more?
*
Slowly and continuously increase the acceleration, you will get max rating for cruise

Prius 1.8 L engines delivers 2.4 L performance, if Prius C 1.5 L engines delivers how much performance??
*
Altis 1.8 has max torque 173Nm, horsepower 140PS, weight 1270kg
PC has 169Nm, 101PS, weight 1140kg
So, it is comparable to Altis 1.8 if the battery is sufficient charged

How you do that with Air cond on?

to engah,

Wow. how u do it ? I try my best off air con at 30.3km/l.. is it weight and road matter most ?
*
To timeone & aragongon,

(1) My house is near Kota Damansara toll. I pay 2 toll charges twice daily (RM4.60/day) and hence no need to go through any traffic light to reach my office in Shah Alam where all road junctions mostly have a roundabout

(2) I normally leave early, meaning, minimum jam

(3) Going uphill I used petrol engine, going downhill I used glide mode as much as I could, flat road maximum EV mode.

Of course, it was not a 100% smooth journey, or else I could have achieved a better result.

Save time, yes, but not really saving money as toll charges are expensive...

plenty of downhill roads?

Both up and down. Kota Damansara toll > NKVE> exit subang toll > federal EW > Batu Tiga toll > exit near Carlberg factory> section 23 Shah Alam

Engah, thanks for your sharing. Just 2 questions:
1.) when you are cruising, what speed are you maintain on?

2.) during acceleration, how you manage your accelerator? slow acceleration or fast acceleration? on what speed only you kick in petrol engine?

Thanks a lot!!! notworthy.gif
*
To aragongon
1. Morning rush hour, max I could drive was 60 to 75 km/hr, most of the time below 40

2. On flat land, 65km/hr, down hill, 72km/h

This morning, when I left my house, petrol engine started to kick in even when I was driving in the housing estate at a low speed, with battery more than half charged. Something I do not understand.

Prius C will start the engine if the car engine temperature is low, no matter you are driving on EV mode, this is to warm up the engine.

I stay in the hill top, when temperature below 24c in the morning, the engine will auto start even my battery is 7-8 bar full and driving slow.
*
Thanks for your explanation. Now I understand. This morning the temp was relatively low, that 's why the engine kicked in as soon as I started driving

Please bring it to service centre asap to get it fixed. They may charge you after 1000km.

PC comes with no alignment done, told by my SA. Service Centre provide free alignment services before 1000km. Guys, beware of your alignment while you just receive the car.
*
I got mine fixed after my second service. As long as it is within the warranty period, it should be ok. Initially, I also thought the noise came from dashboard but the SC said it came from the curtain airbag.

We have rusty metal part underneath our PC.

Yesterday's paper reported a worldwide recall by Toyota. The workmanship of PC seems to be quite poor.

2-3 years down the road, PC may also kena recall because they normally act on customer's complaint. Those sold in Malaysia are normally said to be "unaffected". Quite strange. Why? May be life here is "cheap" lah

Was on the hill near Bangsar (Jalan Maarof). Half way up the hill stopped at traffic lights.  Car started to roll back. What did i do wrong?  My old automatic stuck like glue to the hill when take foot off break.  Should i keep foot gently on accelerator?
*
Probably easier to just use hand brake to control.

Even u off air con button above 27 and outside tempature lower  the heater will on
*
I do not think the heater will operate when only the fan is running. The air is hot because of air recirculation. We exhale hot air and naturally the air gets warmer over time. If you allow air from outside to come in by turning off the air recirculation switch, it will not be hot but could be smelly.

PC is the eCVT, which the gear build with the gear itself. It is a simple but efficient system all control electronically. Try google to find more about Toyota eCVT.

If you are not a engineer, you may confuse how the gear work for a long time due to it uses a new motor gear technology not like the conventional gear for car/bike. (I'm not a engineer, I spent months reading & understand how really it work)

When we going down hill & switch geat to B, more brake regenerate will apply to to slow down the vehicle. This also the only time you may experience the battery fully charge. Else it always maintain 80% for normal drive.
*
Watch this for the eCVT operation.....
