no offence but.... i think you have underutilised your e-500. camera shake light streak may look abstract and creative but to be frank, it lacks subject & purpose. just like handheld fireworks shots. im still looking forward to see some nice pics taken with e-500.

actually i think the 2d one is pretty cool. its something i would want to look at. it stands out more than the first and has a good manic hyperactive energetic feel to it.

thanks BurgaFlippinMan, actually i wanted to shoot something like star wars "light-speed" kinda effects, but.... hai~~ end up something like that

you'll never get perfectly straight lines, even with a kickass tripod, not on our roads at least. believe me, i've tried.

Modelling shots:

All of them seem a little under exposed. You were using built-in flash? But you managed to catch a few at eye level, which is nice. Were you standing on platform also? Cos normally can only get bottom up view...

Blurry shots:
2nd one looks better coz got slightly more focus on the meter/dashboard area. U might wanna try a longer time, hold stable for about 30-40% to catch even more focus, then drive off to catch movement.

Last 2 not so interesting...

for the modeling shots it look a bit under maybe b-coz my gradation was set as Low key setting.
nope i din use any flash at all, that's y my photo is not so sharp.
to getting the eye level shots b-coz the platform not so height, n there allowed us to get closer to the stage.

for the blurry shots i already try my best to keep steady but still......

last 2, hmm~~pic1 jz simply shoot, pic 2 i actually want to capture the bicycle shadow only.

Nice night shots but if I may ask, why such a high aperture?

well, De_Cruelz i also dun have any idea of using wut aperture to shoot, i jz use landscape method (big aperture, small shutter speed) to shoot onli. Is any sifu-sifu can teach some techniques of shooting indoor in low light ar?

Hi WieldPiew! Well from the shots you took i'll just presume that you have a tripod with you. Anything less than 1/60s should be taken with a tripod for best results. For indoor low lighting conditions, its best to use the lowest aperture you have to let more light in. The higher the aperture, the smaller the hole for letting light in hence having to expose longer.

For landscape in daylight, I generally don't use any more than f/10. While the landscape settings you chose to use may be good for night landscape photography, it is probably not the best for indoor low light conditions.

frankly, i've never seen much point in shooting these roadshows. you get crappy lighting in boring messy settings. personally, they are just not something which gets my creative juices flowing.

i love those F1s... how did u do it? I mean was that place low light at that moment or u took a low key while the surroundings is bright??

dunno y~~ i like to shoot the pic slightly 'under a bit' jz to get more contrast something like low key la(correct me if i'm wrong).
n another thing shooting inside the shopping mall is the b/g(very kacau 1 so crowded), so most of my pic i try to shoot more c/u jz to avoiding the bg.

well, for me is quite acceptable, maybe later if i free, i will go n test out my cam by using iso 800 n 1600 n c the diff.

haha lucky me, coz the dragonfly rest on my balcony gate there, n it seem didn't notice me, so i quickly grab my cam n sanp lor for the cat, at first i wanted to find some more dragonfly to shoot but end up this cat turns out n it didn't scared of me.

I thought the 50mm lenses from Olympus are macro lenses?

yes, u r right my 1 is Zuiko Digital ED 50mm f2.0 Macro cost me $1900 + 100+ for xtened 2 yrs warranty. But 1 thing for sure is those kit len cannot compare with this pro-grade len. Well i think it's wut u paid n wut u get la . another reason is i couldn't get 4:3 third party len like sigma at KL / Sel area, i guess here olympus not so popular :SIEN:

What grain? I don't see any grain? At most some JPEG compression blockiness.

The ZD 50/2 Macro is a very sharp lens, I heard. You can use it to shoot a variety of subjects, but the focal length can limit its use.

I like #1, the soft look is nice

yes, it is a very sharp len, min focal length is 0.79 ft or 0.24 m (approx 7-8 cm).
for low light environment, it's abit difficult to use AF, some time i could'nt get the focus point, so i have to use MF.
