I used to use the FZ-5, from my memory it was possible to get okay results from Aperture priority, zoom out and use the largest aperture possible (f/2.8 or 3.3??). YMMV.. hope this might help

My lens only can go to f/4.5, and still can do that effect wor...
Mine is Nikon D70s.
What I do is set to Aperture-mode, then minimize the f/number... (in my case only f/4.5)
Then taaa-daaa...
The effect is out...
But the closer the distance to the object, the liitle DoF can get, correct me if i am wrong... (learning... newbie here...)

or can i say like this in simple way
f/(bigger)number + Shutter speed (slower) = (b/g)more details
f/(smaller) number + Shutter speed (faster) = (b/g) less details

maybe u can try Macro mode to shoot, i think it can get the blur b/g.
correct me if i am wrong la, i also a newbie

But aaron said if change the f/(smallest), the picture will bcome darker / brighter...
I have compared by using Macro-mode & Aperture-mode...
Macro-mode darker compare to Aperture-mode...
But it still can control by the ISO right?

yup,biggest aperature can go for fz7 is F2.8.

ya,the condition is just like HenryLow said, this pic will get darker. haha...the pic become dark than all those blur and sharp image oso cannot c liao.haha...

hehe...fz7 cannot control the ISO 1, once ISO exceed 100 already can notice noice liao. so the ISO i can go only ISO100 only.

Maybe you can try use Manual-mode...
Try to use different combination of f/number x shutter speed...
I am sure one of the combination will satisfied you...

this is true, so your not a newbie yeah works best on macro mode. Instead of saying the b/g will be blur, the b/g will be nicer and give more impact to your subject.
