Echoring Fury can go further with socket, gem can get bigger. Braver can upgrade some more.

LS% is Life Steal PER HIT. If you hit 10k dmg in inferno, the return in LS is too little that you can completely ignore it. imagine 3%LS of 10k @ 80% inferno reduction = 60 life.
Now imagine you crit a 200k dmg on a 9%LS = 3,600 life - on single target. |

Yes the two aren't heaven and hell, you can always benefit from both side, but then as far as non-barbarian is concern, to have weapons with decent LS+LoH cost an arm and a leg.
Barb can still stack the LS from belt and Bloodthirst passive |
