guys i want to ask how u guys can endure leveling 2,3,4,5,6,7 alt ?.. i mean leveling to 85, create another toon.. leveling to 85.. up prof 525/525, then make another alt..

omg.. i saw few ppl having 4,5 alt and all their alts are decent gear.. minimum 385 at least... i only got 1 main which is warrior.. and whenever i want to roll alt.. i really cannot tahan even 30 mins in leveling.. too boring and too slow... even using zygor.. haiz... later i switch back to my main for pvp..

my theory is.. those who got more than 1 char.. is more on PVE side.. meaning they prefer raid more than pvp.... meanwhile those that crazy with pvp..everyday bg / rbg.. arena... will only have maximum 1 char.. cause lazy to leveling alt... is this true?

sorry for ranting.. just want to know is there any good way to leveling alts.. im so so lazy and it takes so freaking long time to level another toon

4 years of playing, only 1 main toon lvl85. just don't have that much time to spend on gaming...

ya same.. almost 9 months for me and i only have 1 main.. the rest level 10 and feel almost giveup already

i have all classes except shaman, just level general profs dont need to level it all.

but u need level as well right?.. i mean.. if u level 15-20.. its hard for u to level ur prof up to 400 rite?.. i bet cannot even pass 375... cause those area mob level twice higher than u at least

well its not impossible and how on earth will you be level 15-20 and have 400 prof, if you are leveling mining and bs at the same time it would be impossible to be level 15-20 and have 400 mining and 400 bs, unless you have shit load of gold to spend it all on bars that case you can be level 10 and get to 400 bs

i usually lvl a new class becoz i have to company my recruit.my 85 druid exist becoz i did lvling wit my wife's mage.my poor lvl 40+ shaman & hunter becoz i lvled with my recruit until they stopped halfway playing

Too much pain to have more than 1 main and 1 alt. Lots of rep/achievement/gear grinding to keep all your alts well supplied. I only have one 85 hunter and one 70-ish DK (but inactive) but seriously considering creating a pandaren monk

i see.. did u use RAF or Heirlooms?.. im talking about naked alt.. no heirlooms and raf.. maybe guild perks abit.. thats all.. sigh..

btw does anyone lagging now?.. after patch 5.0.5 wow so lag lah.. usually my latency is around 200-300 ms.. but today 1.5k-2k ms.. wtf is blizzard doing

I have

5 alts and 1 main. Let me tell you , just go and put music and quest around. Its simple. You meet great people along the way. The two new alts I created were mainly because of RAF , so I just level till 31 and instant ding to 80 and then quest from 80 to 85.

Generally I do power leveling , I pick quests that gives me more xp and things like that and quickly switch. I don't bother leveling prof while questing as well.

what do u mean by instant ding 80?... can share?...

and i want to ask.. is it better to do dungeon when hit 15.. or do quest?.. how to know which quest giving more exp and which one giving less?..

yah i believe leveling separate from doing profs is much faster i think.. oh shait any more tips guys?...

I have alot of alt..first I start at Maiev, have almost all class except DK.
Then transfer to Thaurissan. Only bring my main. I create another 4 alt there. Fastest way to ding is to equip heirlooms and queue as tank or heal. Anyway queue as tank will be much faster. If you are dps class only like rogue/mage/lock, set your heartstone to ogrimmar and check command board. If got quest to certain area for example Ashenvale , just go for it eventhough you think it was quite high for you.

My record for fastest ding to lvl 80 is 12 hours(play time) with my RAF friend. I queue as tank while he queue as healer. At lvl 70, i still have a few lvl 20 gear item.

There is a way , you need to RAF la

So what you do is level a new character with friend , do dungeons and quests and some group quests , you'll get tons of XP . You'll instantly ding faster not to mention with heirlooms. This will bring you and your friend roughly around 78-80. Now your friend can grant you a level for every 2 levels earned. So lets say you have another alt , get it to level 31 , then you can ask your friend to grant level to your other alt. This would birng both the characters to 80

I can provide you an addon which I use to level my paladin and my DK , without RAF. It helps me with which quests are worth it and which one should I ignore

My main is a night elf druid - took me about 5 months to get him to max lvl. (around 2-3 hours a day workdays and 5-6 on weekends) -- im in no hurry to lvl because i was doing other stuff as well. (exploring, professions - herbs, skinning, fishing, first aid + archaeology and other stuff). He's generally an achievement junkies. I intended for him to stay that way.

My 1st alt to hit 85 was a holy paladin. Took me 2 months to work it (heirlooms only + Guild Perks) with max on both professions - herbs and alchemy. Both my 85 toons are DS geared.

Currently working on another alt Discipline priest. Working on it for 1 month now (lvl 62 currently). Profession - tailoring and inscription (Max at current lvl - TBC) . expecting to ding 85 in another 1-2 weeks. Hopefully before MoP goes live. I USUALLY lvl the toon and their profession simultaneously, thts why it took them awhile for me to get them to 85.

I wish a hv the time to lvl faster, BUT thats just not my way of playing WoW. I want to enjoy it.. learned all they can offer or do..

my 1st toon was pally.no raf what so eva.lvl it the normal way to 80.when cata release i reroll DK ( becoz someone in my guild told me that pally ret was useless in wotlk raid and my guild was a PINKY RANGER GUILD)
i lvled my DK casually as a blood tank (love the tanking) i didnt do any quest for my dk.i spam dungeons all the way and i lvled my blacksmith and my enchanting without moving from thunder bluff (my pally was a chinese gold farmer) and thats how my DK became my main
i got 4 lvl85s.dk,pally,druid,priest.geared DK and pally only.priest and druid for profesions

yes me n my gf was planing on something like u... each got 1 main and 1 alt for profession.. so 2 main, 2 alt.. at least 8 profession there...

for fast lvling, you need heirloom gears, Guild Perks (Fast Track) and Recruit A Friend (RAF).

hello is it possible if 2 active accounts (cata updated) raf each other?.. or we only can raf new accounts (notyet update to cata)?

or you go dl some kick ass series which you have not yet watched, play wow in window mode and watch while questing. if you got 2 monitors it would be way way simpler

Sorry, i hv no idea how RAF works. Since it can grant you lvl up til 80. i think WotLK expansion is enough. but after 80, you still need to do quests or dungeons to get to 85.

then again, i might be wrong.

and i think its 2 level per grant lvl

nope..my friend..he from lowyat too.i dont think so you can raf another cata account. Recruit a friend feature only work on new i account i think.

i got my rogue to 5x then got bored of it. so i make hunter and level to 85. but when go bg i c rogue so nice to use (ninja here and there ) so i retrain my rogue
then i found a lot of 2h nice swords during my rogue dungeoning. so after rogue get to 85, i make warrior. level to 69 (titan grip pre mOP) and stop to acc my gf 70 lock. make another pally and level to 80 (for 2h sword as well). but after MOP my pally become battle mage. dont really like the changes so make another DK. now still finding best rotation for UH DK
somewhere during the time above i make a priest just to use the bank

how i level is just queue dungeon, afk and watch futurama/Big bang theory. once the q found match, go back to my laptop and finish the dungeon

EDIT : oh get heirloom as well. the 35% EXP bonus is a big time saver, especially during 1-15 when u cant do dungeon

Added on September 13, 2012, 4:17 pmactually no worries there. since once u hit 80, ur gear (unless u ah/bg) will not be enough for cata dungeon. u will need to do some cata quest to get better item for the dungeon

i have 5 pallies, 4 huntards, 2 shammy, 2 warrior, 1 drood n 1 mage scattered all around servers!!!

My Spriest, DK, Pally, Mage, Hunter, Warlock are all lvl 85.
All are ilvl 393 (except the lock which I levelled just past 1 week) and above.

The key to it is pretty easy, if you have interest in trying out different aspects of multiple classes and like to understand raid as a whole, then levelling them is a key thing you have in mind. I like to raid on different alts in order to understand better the roles and limitations.

An example would be clumping adds up in warmaster is so much better for a DK/rogue/warrior cleave and this would be oblivious to you if you just play a range caster. If the raid leader is not doing the right strat to augment your raid composition, you would be able to know as well and can tweak it with him. By adding this value, you can prove yourself to be an invaluable raider.

As for professions, never farm items. Always buy from AH, craft the items (boe), and sell back for a profit. Rinse and repeat. That is far better method. That way, you can have lotsa gold while getting your professions levelled. Also try to have professions that directly benefit your main toon's raiding. JC, enchanter, Alchemist are a must.

@Apos: I used to be in FM but not now. There's 2 ways to look at it, just like real life investment.

Farming = Makan gaji. No hope of getting rich. Your effort is in direct proportion to the time you devote to it. And everybody has limited time (24 hours a day). So, how to do you magnify that?

Using AH = Of course there's a cost. But this upfront cost can be regained later as you craft items to sell back out. This is akin to doing business. The boon of this is that you could multiply your efforts leveraging on AH supply and not just your time. But this takes some skills instead of just bulldozing your way through. You need to know supply and demand... and generally buy cheap sell higher.

For levelling, either you use RAF or if that's not available, try to use BOA and join a lvl25 guild. It's pretty fast. Also depending on what class you have, dps classes will generally level faster. I did warlock in fairly quick just by questing and occasional dungeoning. I just run around dotting up stuffs and let me voidlord taunt them.

Other than that, you just have to have a mindset that once your toon reached max level, you'd wanna play it to be an OP toon. Once you have a target set, the road is much easier and tolerable.

Actually all classes with pets generally level faster compared to non pet classes, and sometimes its smart to use pvp specs to level *example was frost mage during their op period*

lvling is tedious work without RAF or heirlooms (BoA). My lvling time is cut in half with BoA, no RAF yet tho. (went on around my workplace trying to "persuade" colleague to play WoW.. ). Went to ALL IT the other day, they sell WoW package -- Battlechest (vanilla + TBC), WotLK and Cata for RM299..

I first started out with a druid, with gathering profession (herbs and skinning). mainly because i hv no other toon and its the easiest way to gather a few gold at early stage. Flight form FTW.. If you really want to make lots of gold try Mining and Jewelcrafting. You can get gems from mining. However other mats for it such as sockets you'll hv to get it from AH.

For me i only have two toons.. took me like 4 years just to get another one up but also thanks to RAF from 40-80 straight.. but leveling up now also isn't that long anymore.. i did 1-40 in like a week with slow leveling. so 1-85 should like take 2-3 weeks? depending on how much you play.. Just spend some time on your main do all the dailies and all raids then just hop on to your alt and start leveling. for professions its gonna be expensive if you dont level as you level up.
