Well apparently Astro have finally released the Astro On-the-Go app for us Android users after months being left out in the dark..

But, it seems like it ONLY WORKS FOR CERTAIN SAMSUNG PHONES FOR NOW with more phones will be supported soon.

BUT, apparently I still can't get my Samsung Galaxy Nexus to download the app from the Google Play.

Reason? "Your device isn't compatible with this version."

Seriously? I thought it "supports Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.0 and above."

Mine is on Jelly Bean 4.1.1.. Still not rooted and etc.. (I know I can't believe it as well.. I'm not using custom ROM? Am I really me? hehe)



You guys are experiencing the same issue as me? Listed as eligible from the Astro website but in Play it stated otherwise?

I know both Maxis and Astro are biologically related but I didn't expect them to be haywire to this level...

lol, seriously? Damn lucky.. If it took Astro months to release the Android version even on certain devices, how long will it take for them to improve the compatibility with our phone? Months? I think so.

They treated Android like it's a minor OS, I wonder how they will treat Windows Phone 7 and 8?

Most local developers are the same, except for capital fm, surprisingly.. They announced it proudly on the radio commercial.. "Capital fm app can now be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play"..

I was like "wait what? I only heard the word google play..".. n so i waited for that commercials again.. hehe

okay, it cant be done, the downloaded file was not even .apk,
its a zip

i check mine data/app, it download com.astro.astro-1.ZIP

so i transfer it to my SGS3, rename it to .apk, and it say applicantion is not installed.... =.= how the heck do we get around this one

I read in the galaxy nexus thread even with the apk file obtained, it got stucked at login.

i got no issue installing it on my tab 7 plus since last 2 weeks..it only useful to catch some episodes which you missed...like the truth at 311 wah lai toi.

try the catch channel. there are few tv dramas which you have missed..else aec or suangxing live channel...disney also got live.

Streamyx. I download always 120kbps, but this was very slow.

even is just 120kbps, cant be that slow. im using unifi 5mbps nevertheless.

Maybe play store server slow.

oh yes but restricted to local channels. Ever since i subscribe to astro, i hardly watch local channels....now even worse, i seldom watch astro because got pps and US tv series which i downloaded. Watching X-files season 6, Weeds season 5, the big bang theory season 1...lot more i have not watched but already downloaded in my 1TB hdd.

try to check again when there is a live match.normally they will be a channel for sports.i've used onthego for desktop before.

we need pay RM 50 per mth + 6 % gov tax.. previously gt trial but now over liau..

This is apk files but for my experience it's only working with ics (4.0.x). I already test this with galaxy s gt-i9000, galaxy s plus gt-i9001 and also galaxy sl gt-i9003. All of it using custom ics rom and it's working fine.

You need to link your on-the-go account with your astro smartcard id to get extra channels. I my case i got 19 channels including sports, discovery, learning, variety. kids ect. I really like this very much and i think will stuck myself will ICS until this sofware working with Jelly Bean.

Currently I'm on stock JellyBean v4.1.2 official german Samsung N7000. Astro On-The-Go v3.0.0 Force Close. Downgrade back to v2.9.4 and it run smoothly.

I just don understand why Astro can't make it available for all devices in the play store! Sucks!

try clear cache, clear data after install v3.0 and run app. see if that help.

i wonder why i cant view the link in my phone, using both firefox n chrome, both failed to load the page. could it be because i installed adfree app?

I installed it but after I filled up username n password, pressed login, it exit itself. im usin xperia z, no problem with my tablet z tho. but im not sure what version im using on the tablet z, previously astro onthego works on my xperia z, I guess myb the problem is cause by 4.2.2 or my custom Rom.
