I just auditioned the Hivi M200 Mk II today and it was awesome. Definitely entry level hifi quality there. Vocals are really good, clear, crip and sounds "big" like those hi fi sets which costs RM2-3k above. Dynamic range or separation you might call it is soooo much better than the M50W which sounds "small" and muffled and lacking clarity. If you don't tell me that it's RM709, I would really think it's some RM2k+ HI FI set with a dedicated amplifier and DAC (talking about M200 Mk II)

The Edifier Multimedia range (S330D,C3,S530D,S730D) or Corsair SP2500 can pergi buang sampah icon_idea.gif

Will try to go there to cuba cuba again, have to pujuk sifu Enigmatic to come along first brows.gif

Bro,

Since Hivi M200 Mk II is 2.0 system, i think it is not fair to compare it with multimedia series speaker, you should compare it with our latest 2.0 like R2600, R2700, R2800 and e30.

Just my opinion, no offense.

If you guy interested, may be i can organize a Teh Tarik session in Inter-Asia HQ, for all the bro to test out the new Edifier 2.0 series.

All the latest Edifier 2.0 studio will voice by Phil Jones.

Ok, since you put it that way, how is Swan D1080-IV if compare to R2700? for me, the D1080-IV get quite balance in vocal and Bass,  Swan M200 have a much richer vocal and detail compare to D1080-IV (but the price is way out of my league, plus i think the vocal kind of overwhelm the bass, but that just personal opinion)..but i havent get the chance the try R2700.. not sure how is the taste of the speaker..
*
R2700 is quite balance and this speaker is tuned by Phil Jones.
We already sold out all the R2700 before the coming shipment reach sad.gif

ya ya what icecube say is true. the r2700 should have a better low-er end respond but again if you go after a higher end 2.0 speaker with an 8 inch woofer it should give you more then enough low end withough needing a sub. one of the factor i got the d1080-iv is because of the look of the speaker itself the r2700 look  shakehead.gif

This is because Edifier prefer invest the money on the sound quality than the look.

well said bro rclxms.gif hope edifier can continue produce quality products
s2000 not bad looking ^^
Bro ktek,

Edifier can produce a lot of quality products like S2000 however the cost will be very high and less people can afford it. Check out the new e10, e1100mkII, e3350BT, e30 and etc.
The philosophy of Edifier is "Produce something which is the best in its price range and affordable by everyone"

not sure bout r2800. even though is bigger woofer. I doubt the bass can beat those with subwoofer one
*
U shud give r2800 a try because it is 2.2 system.
Normally, 2.1 speaker will come with 1 woofer driver only but r2800 have 2 x 6.5" woofer driver.

If u know mandarin, u can check the r2800 thread in cari.com. Almost all the r2800 bought by cari.com member

don't doubt... must try lol

my 2.0 setup is insane compared to my edifier s530d

as long as the size is large enough, then a subwoofer will not be required.
I do not need a subwoofer because my stereo bookshelves are large enough to represent 2 subwoofer
I thought the R2800 comes with 8" woofers? because the R2700 is the one that comes with 6.5" woofers
*
Sorry for the typo error.
R2800 comes with 2 x 8" woofer driver.

R2800 thread in cari.com - http://cforum.cari.com.my/forum.php?mod=vi...1752&mobile=yes

Hihi !!

I decided to go with Hivi M60 5.1 channel in the end  blush.gif

made with real veneer wood smile.gif

Super costly for pc speakers ...lol

RM2k .. + Rm60 for postage.... still considering whether get insured postage or not .. as it cost another RM200 .. !! lol .. I could almost buy 2 Edifier S550 with this piece of premium speakers.

from what  I read .. it go 2 active bass drivers encased inside the subwoofer.... shocking.gif
*
If not urgent, i recommend you to hold till the new S550 ready, the RMS will be 5 x 60W + 256W.

Kinda urgent, lol. My TV sounds like im sitting inside a canned room.

new S550 is ProAudio MKII or S750? 556W is tremendous ! I would have to buy life insurance before setting it up (neighbors will kill me)....lol.
*
S550 is without DTS version.
S760 should be here around Dec, 556W too with build in DTS and Dolby Digital

Thanks for the info. I am still struggling to decide between Hivi Swan M200MKIII and Edifier R2800. Both are unavailable to test in Penang. Now I only rely on reading reviews and listen in youtube  sad.gif .

Anyone has any idea where i can test these speakers in Penang? Or give advice on both speakers?

BTW, seem like M200MKIII has built-in amp. Is that a big deal if I connect it to blue-ray/DVD player only? Did R2800 has built-in amp?
*
If you can read mandarin, you can contact the forumer in cari.com, a lot of R2800 owners in cari.com are from Penang.

Is the sound quality good for M20?
Stereo sound for gaming, nt really need too much bass.. mostly listening to sad melody..

How about the new MP260?
Stock will reach Malaysia next week.

MKIII, is it really lack of bass? Are you a bass head? Just wondering... I'm not really a bass head but I do appreciate the presence of bass in a music. Especially classic jazz, I think it's not enjoyable without bass. And I do listen to other modern genre. I'm a universal listener so I need a all rounder speaker. BTW, XS 2.1 good for PC usage? They have built in DAC right, better than after market RM 500 DAC?
*
Bro,

You should give Edifier R2800 a try smile.gif

Hey Guys, its PC fair today, so im thinking of getting a Speaker to replace my Altec Lansing v4121.

Is Edifier C3 a good replacement?

Also im looking at the suggested Edifier mp250, it looks very portable and good for travel use on my laptop.

I have not tried both.

Any suggestions? or should i just get both. haha

Edit: any better ones to reccomend? my budget is around their price. RM160 for portable, RM400 for room use.
*
Bro,

We don't sell C3 at PC Fair, we focus on headphones this time.

Currently have the M50W but was planning to try out bookshelf speakers with the Lepai Amp. Any recommendations for classical music. RM450??? Or would just keeping the m50w be a better choice? Oh right nearfield listening. My bass is like 20-35% of M50W knob turned
*
For classical music, i would suggest you give Edifier R2700 a try.
