not sure about the rest, but i see some sgreits have become so darn speculative, volatile... >10% swing within 10 days or so.

e.g. mapletree ind, capitamall, kdc.

aims is a more stable one... back to its "norm" at 1.42.

fed rate cut was expected since yesterday morning.

bnm cut was expected too, it happened.

sg int rates direction will follow fed's.. so, bond+reit prices go up.

the thing now is with such low int rates, many feel the yields (>4%) of some of the better reits are still high... prices can go up further.

take KDC... yield 4.0%... price still went up to 2.54.

i see it going back up there from 2.40 now.

unless other major changes, i think the "quality" sgreits will do very well by year end.

quick look at a few reits... if bought on 28 Feb, today... >10% gain.

i added some mapletree ind and capitamall.

not at lowest prices but happy enuf.

Reits, incl sgreits are calm.... just 2-3% swings in a day.

Last night, us marts... some stocks crashed 30-40%... even google, apple saw 3-5% movements.

Those are the ones that work up the adrenalin. biggrin.gif

Tonight will likely see some recivering 10-15%.

SGD has always been a "balanced" currency becos that serves its purpose well for its "internationalized" economy.

imo, SGD will depr against USD near term but won't be worse than RM.

becos RM gets hit on more fronts than SGD - crude, palm oil, FDI, capital flight, illegal flows, etc....

been like that for decades.

i have some old records of what i bought then...5-7 years ago... some sold off, some sold n bought back, some held since then.

the early investors have been rewarded well.

last few years, it had dividends rights issues twice - at great price - and then it moves up again.

some people avg cost wud be like 0.80 only.

yeah, i think that's ok.

rarely such events happen and they do, u see something and got convinced, u do it.

surely there is no guarantee it will turn out the way it did, but if it does, it's great; if not, u live with it.

i also bought some this morning after selling yesterday... small amounts, but i think i worked out OK, for now. tongue.gif

2nite... i hv another "bet" of that sort on nyse... djia futures +8xx, wti +4.5%, i hope it crawls back!

not sure why... maybe short cover, oversold, majors jumping back it after S$P futures touched 24xx?

i hope u bought KDC today.

the swings were quite incredible.

i added to these 3; i have only these 3, sold all the rest.

KDC, low <1.90, closed at 2.13.
Mapletree Ind, low 2.46, closed 2.69.
Aimsapac, low 1.15, closed 1.24.

will not care if they fall again... will lock them up for a good while.

happy to monitor just 3. biggrin.gif


the battle resumes at 9.30pm NYSE. laugh.gif
