Why not direct buy ETF?
*
Because ETF contains lousy companies like Boeing, IBM, ford, GM, intel, airlines and I don't support those companies. Why bother invest to invest in those companies? Buying etf means you are indirectly supporting those companies. I choose to put money into quality companies Vs trash companies.

If you are talking about sg reits, why bother with ETF when you can choose the best 10 high quality reits and DIY ETF, earn more dividends Vs what the ETF can give you?

I got CIMB singapore.

IBKR is this one?
https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/home.php
sorry, not really familiar with the jargon

how about buy singapore REIT? using the same method? or use my trading stock trading account/platform?
*
Yes.

For singapore REIT, you can use IBKR. But keep in mind s-reit likes to ask for money (rights or placement) Vs Malaysia reit. Some rights or placement cannot be sub via IBKR. If you want a platform that let you sub for rights and placement online, use FSM SG. You pay more per trade I think SGD10 Vs Ibkr of SGD2.50 by going FSM SG route. If you don't care about subscribing for rights and placement fine to go via IBKR.

Avoid Malaysian brokerage. You pay higher commission than above, you dividend fee and you pay higher exchange rate. Not worth it.

Hey Ramjade, I have been using Kenanga for a while and last year onwards they allow us to subscribe rights and also DRP

But yes. Brokage is abit higher at 0.6%
*
Not only that. See what's the min they charge, how's the exchange rate. Use xe as guidance.

Like ibkr minimum is sgd2.50. What's kenanga minimum?

That fella talks a lot,... always saying waiting for cheaper,... but never heard him confirming buys... Always waiting for lower and lower,...

Then out of a sudden in the near future,... announced he 'HAS BOUGHT EARLIER'.

Let's see what he says now.

What I will say, I will continue buying my Google, Microsoft, Adobe. BlackRock, CNI, Visa, AMD, KLAC, BIP over any sreits.

I don't have unlimited ATM machine so will pick where my money can work the best.

Sekian.

singapore reits.. more for income.

I want be lazy investor also end up weekend hv to start digging info. what used to be so good..
eg AIMS i hold for 10 yrs already.. recently sold of more than half and start buying other stuff.

For reits i will use div yield as a guide instead of chart. Hence trying to collect at bottom.

if look at TA.. cannot buy.. red red red ..no recovery in sign yet.  I really hv caught the falling knife. and yeah i am bleeding.
i believe recovery will be supersonic V shape.. HOPETOLOGY although logic wise its pointing another way
*
You will thank yourself that you keep buying the dip. I did last time. No regrets today. You can never buy at the bottom. Near the bottom is good enough.

DCA is very hard and cruel for small retailers that without deep pocket in recently price falling knife pattern.
You can't keep on DCA non stop, the more DCA, the more losses incurred when price keep on falling fast.
Everyday see losses being magnified due to non stop DC.
*
That's the way to go. I keep buying the dip. Once the rebound happen, it's going to be glorious.

Some of my stuff have rebounded. Wealth is made in a bear/red/down market.

The lower the price, the higher the margin of safety.

The issue is DCA magnify the loss if going the wrong way.

The lower the price after DCA, the loss is magnified if the stock not rebounding enough above average price.

Manu, Prime share price drop quite deep.
If keep on DCA on dip, don't know how much needed, and also loss is magnified during the process.

Don't have deep pocket, DCA may not a suitable method.
*
Always ask yourself any change in fundamentals? How's the occupancy? How's their debts?

For me I got better fish to catch hence I already abandon my sreits. Those there I just keep. Won't add more. Won't sell. Just hold.

Before you ask, what am I collecting, they are US counters and here's the answe.
BlackRock, visa. Microsoft, Google, Adobe. Brookfield infrastructure, Canadian national railway, AMD, Tesla (not listed in any orders)

Any idea why FLCT is performing so badly. Seems like a reasonable Reit?
It's down from $1.40ish to $1.10 presently. That's a big fall for an index share.
*
So you can pick up more? My guess is their Europe component. AK picked up some.

i have no FLCT yet. But it looks compelling.
But yeah. Maybe the Euro, GBP and AUD is dropping against SGD too much.
*
If it can drop to 0.9x, will pick up some. Quality asset like flct don't go on discount often.

Which mapletree stock better to buy now? Pan asia, logistic or industrial?
*
Depends on what you want.
Pan Asia is retail + office - SG, HK. Korea
Industrial - warehouse + factories + datacentre with their warehouse and factories majority in sg.
Logistics - basically warehouse quite diversified

For me I will buy the logistics. But not at current price. Maybe another. 10-20c drop. I would want to pick it up more at yield if 7%p.a rather than now 5.9%p.a
