Is it true that solid counter top is easily scratched and stained? In terms of maintenance, is solid better than melamine or formica? I'm currently using melamine and has no major issue with stains/scratches but then again, mine is dark in color so it may not be so obvious. Contemplating using either quartz or solid for my new hse but quartz is a bit out of my budget.
