First I apologise for the delays in my worklog. Exam month. But now that it's over, I can get back to work!

Started sanding my radiator today. Cheap looking paint, but thick cheap looking paint. doh.gif Will need to go out to get coarser sand paper later and continue sanding tomorrow.

Also, plans to change my 35X to a D5 is confirmed, meaning I need to do some more modifications to my A05NB. Which also means some delay in sending it for powder coating.

Will be removing my 5.25" bay rails so I can "hang" my Aquaero from the top of the case.

And because of this I need to redo my side panel window.

Not sure if I mentioned this, but my 7950 needs to be RMA-ed as well. Artifacting like no tomorrow.

So much work for the weeks ahead. blink.gif

Stripping the paint from my radiators is probably the worst idea for this project. Seems like Alphacool uses baked enamel paint for their radiators which is a pain to remove. Will probably take me a week or two and a LOT of sand paper to clean them up.

If anyone has any recommendations to remove baked on enamel paint, I'm all ears. All I can think of is either using acetone I have in my cabinet or going out and buying paint stripper/MEK.

Thought of that, but it'll be a nasty mess. As for sand blasting, I'm not particularly keen on outsourcing any "work". Prefer to do it myself. Except for the powder coating. haha.

I wish I had access to one. sad.gif

Will need to persevere and be patient I guess. haha. Or maybe I'll just get a new mask, a box of nitrile gloves and use acetone/mek. lol

If you want to repaint it.
Bill from MNPCTech said , just scuff it up with sandpaper and then clean it and then apply primer and paint. that's it.

Decided to stop doing the radiators for a bit as it's very discouraging.

So spent Sunday evening punching two drain ports, and all the rivets holding my case together.

Found out that I need to use the 5.25" bay unless I want to severely mod out the front panel covers. So I guess I'll keep the bay.

Since I've decided to use a different pump, the window that I cut at the beginning of the project has to be reworked. Now I'm stumped, I have no idea what window design to use, especially since I will need to do a full window. So complicating. doh.gif

Items left to do before powder coating:

Cut motherboard tray lip + management holes
Cut side panel window
Cut 120mm square plate for pump mount

Finish cut edges on case.

Well, at least that's the list that I can think of for now.

Has anyone ever electroless nickel plated their stuff before? I have a few items I wanna plate.

More progress today!

Cut off the lip on the motherboard tray and made some cable management holes. No photos yet coz I need to straighten the cuts out and file it all down.

Cut the 120mm plate, need to drill some holes tomorrow.

Also, went out and got myself a new reservoir, so tonight I'll be playing with:

Need to figure out a way to join them together and at the same time fit into my case. Wish I had more fittings to play with.

Nice collection of fittings. Unfortunately they're not matching.
BTW, there's a new Berry Blue Zen coil from Primochill. Interesting colour. biggrin.gif
