if we give up on doing something which is really extreme difficult to achieve is it a bad choice?
after many time of putting in effort and it still fail. after long time of suffering and it make life become very tough and unhappy. i know we should keep on trying, but is it really not good at all if we give up? give up at this stage consider wise or stupid?

the attitude to pursue something despite failure is a good one. however, if you are attempting the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, that is just insane as quoted by Albert Einstein.

you need to identify the variables and adjust them accordingly till you get the desired outcome. if you keep the variables the same the first time all the way to the 1000th time, nothing's going to change.

From a zen perspective, one should not pursue achievements, thus there is no success and no failure.

Rather, one should be focusing on the present, thus the question would then be, are you happy with what you're trying? If you're happy with the process of trying, then you're already successful. Otherwise, why bother.

NOTE: Thomas Edison was (probably) happy failing on his way to inventing the lighbulb. Are you the same?

i say it depends on your priority.
if its not worth the time, giving up is not an issue.

words of wisdom that I heard before: "Don't just fail, but fail better"

it simply means that everytime you fail, make sure it's better that previous failure. As in there is a progress.

it's hard to say if something is better or worse to be given up. depends on the context.

(i used to think about giving up life, as i saw that i didn't fit in society and this world in general. obviously, i shouldn't give up trying living.)

Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

i would say that everyone has its own limitation and it is important to realise ones limitation and excel in ones potential. E.g. I have always admired how beautiful artist can paint stuff. I can draw/paint a house and a tree, but I can never do it as good as an artist can. I can also study physics till kingdom come and I will not be another Einstein.
But in all things, just do the best that you can give it under the circumtances.

give up if necessary. if you manage to find other road to reach your destiny, why not.Just like driving, u know that road everyday oso jam, so u find alternative road, it might be a longer road, but it sure reach faster.

It is always alright to admit defeat and change to a different route. If you keep on trying without achieving the desired results then it is better to cut loss.

Better luck next time!

I have to agree to give up at the right time after you have analysed what went wrong and do different things to refresh the mind, I have had several major job change and divorce that cost a great deal of time, effort and money I don't have (loan). That is why I rebutted your earlier statements / advice which is naive and silly from some one who are not prepared for REALITY.

There are more than one way to achieve a goal and doing it by the society standard is the hardest, that is why solutions had to be new / out of the box or others not so willing to do. You want something, you need to create a method to get it and people in between is the obstacle, even if you are smart and skillful, you still need people to assist you, that is how a small company can become a big corporation.

As an individual, we only want small achievement at a time and time is not enough if you continue to make silly mistakes or encounter unethical people. I feel that there isn't enough decent people around and often taken advantage of, that wasted 20 years of my time. If you have done the best you can, utilize your intelligence to overwhelm bad people.

Gather your knowledge & experience and create the path that bypass bad people and nurture the one who have the money to pay, go nurture your future boss, not hoping to stumble upon, I did that and got the job I ask for but that isn't my career which is another path I am planing.

When you can do it and meet all the criteria, you can build it odd:
