im not online for 2 days, sudah 63 pages already? biggrin.gif

yesterday drive back to kl from kampung. my gaga filled with petronas. my opinion, between petronas and bhp, bhp more better fc. when raya previously, use bhp all the way. good fc instead petronas

I want to do my budget.. Can I know how much you guys save per month for car? Road tax, insurance, service, next tyre change etc.. Thanks..
*
per month i spend rm200 for car, only for petrol with bhp
for service, only do 3 times, cause use only balik kampung
everyday i ride bike, cost rm12 petrol per week, rm50 per month
bike service every 2 month, cost rm30
on insurance, i dont take extra cover. extra cover const additional premium. add driver only 2 person, more than thant extra premium
road tax cannot escape, fixed by jpj

from previous car to current car :
1. monthly i save rm80 monthly assurans
2. road tax save rm450 as higher cc higher tax
3. insurance increase, rugi rm900
4. petrol save rm30. previus car rm70 kl-ipoh suda habis

Nice idea  thumbup.gif
I see.. I wish can ride bike too.. My uni life I save (but unsafe) money when riding bike.. 1.6 cc must be expensive.. So rm80 already enough for insurance? RM80 x 12month = RM960.. I thought renew need RM1k..
*
hahaha. not insurance la. ansurans. maksudnye pay loan monthly. hehehe
soory if this confuse you on 1st place

insurance for new car surely expensive. but when year after year, it get lesser because you entitled ncd/ncb. but when accident happened and go claim insurance, ncb/ncb have to pay full then decrease year after year

so, if you want to reduce insurance payment, make sure drive carfully so no accident smile.gif

Translation for non-chinese members, the part in the box.

"Please do not blame Proton. Our plant too power every day 700 cars, that's one car every 98 seconds. We can't even meet demand at that rate, let alone inspect every car. Besides, who gives a flying fark about Proton quality? you buy Proton you should expect rattling dashboard, who ask you not to work harder and buy a beemer instead?

OK I was just kidding. I have much respect for DSZ, but the rest of the management is a joke.

do any of u use the engine braking feature to slow down during turning without applying the brakes and press the pedal to pick up speed during turning? i do that ..find it quite smooth.
*
huh?
why is it called engine breaking feature? rclxub.gif

all engine have braking engine. its no feature. its a must

no. it was more of a transmission feature. not the engine. An engine only rev up and rev down.
*
ya ka transmission? hmm.gif

taken from wikipedia

Petrol (gasoline) engines
The term engine braking usually refers to the braking effect caused by the closed-throttle partial-vacuum in petrol (gasoline) engines when the accelerator pedal is released. While some of the braking force is due to friction in the drive train, this is negligible compared to the effect from the vacuum.

When the throttle is closed, the air flow to the intake manifold is greatly restricted. The concept can be illustrated by the amount of effort required to blow/suck through a thin tube vs. a thicker one. It is the work the engine has to do against this restricted air flow that provides the braking effect.

oh...speaking of this.
when to use L ?
and that SAT button can totally ignore right? coz i bought CVT on purpose to have CVT
*
i use L when go steep climbing e.g. multy storey parking lot, where it keep my car on low ratio to climb slopes
i use sat when i want to go fast. with sat mode, i can overtake car faster as it will play as typical AT. if in normal mode, need to press harder to gain speed

this is what the manual says. but if i left it at D can still climb, means it is safe to do so too, right?
or must die die use L for climbing hills?
what about going downhill? L or D ?
thanks
*
if hill like you go karak highway, use d like normal
but hiill climbing from cable car area (dunno what that place called) all the way up to peak of genting, use L
L more usefull to climb steep hill rather dan D. if use D, its move really slow

good example, see the manual tranny. imagine climbing steep hill using 4th/5th gear. slower right even high rpm? 1st/2nd gear, climb hill faster with same high rpm

I think for 4AT u should focus on RPM after shift next gear rather than RPM on current gear. At least maintain >2.5k after shift is more suitable for Campro, so ur previous gear have to rev until 3.5k before shift.
*
if got shiftronic, then i can change gear at 2.5k rpm
no shiftronic hard to figure out when change it

break-in period (before reach 1000km) can drive at 100kph or not? my fren say can since the RPM is still low. but true?
*
when i got my brand new gaga, i've reach 120kmh
drive slow in brak-in (below 80kmh) is a myth
just drive what speed you want WITH smooth press and steer
