Sony Xperia T: H2 flagship with 4.6-inch HD display and 13MP camera

user posted image

Sony Mobile’s H2 flagship is clearly the Sony Xperia T (LT30p). Most of the marketing spend will be focused on this model and will feature in the upcoming James Bond film, Skyfall. The Xperia T will come with a 4.55-inch (720 x 1280) high resolution display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8260A chipset with 1.5GHz dual-core processor and Adreno 225 GPU. Note that this is not the same as the Snapdragon S3 MSM8260 chipset found in the Xperia S.

The Xperia T will come with 16GB internal memory (2.5 GB of firmware, 2 GB of phone memory and 10.8 GB for media) but will support a microSD memory card. It has a 13MP camera capable of 1080p video and front camera capable of 720p video. Other features include NFC, MHL (the HDMI adaptor will be sold separately) and a 1850mAh capacity battery. Sony will also be selling a Xperia T TV Dock to connect the handset to a television.

The Sony Xperia T has dimensions of 129.4 x 67.3 x 9.35 mm and will weigh 139 grams. Sony says that the handset will be available globally in the next few weeks. It will come in three colours (black, silver and white).

Sony Xperia TX: Think Xperia T with S4 Snapdragon and removable battery

user posted image

Sony Mobile’s new flagship is the Xperia T (LT30p ‘Mint’), but it confirmed that in certain markets Sony will instead launch the Xperia TX (LT29i ‘Hayabusa’). This is exactly what we previously speculated given the very close proximity in terms of specifications between the two handsets.

The Xperia TX will come with a 28nm Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8260A chipset (1.5GHz dual-core with Adreno 225 GPU) found in the Xperia T.

The Xperia TX will also have a removable 1750mAh battery good for 6 hours and 40 minutes of GSM talk time. The Xperia T will have a higher capacity (1850mAh) embedded battery. In terms of size the Sony Xperia TX has dimensions of 131 x 68.6 x 8.6 mm and will weigh 127 grams. This makes it both thinner and lighter than the Xperia T which has dimensions of 129.4 x 67.3 x 9.35 mm and will weigh 139 grams.

Apart from these differences, the handset will feature the same 4.55-inch (720 x 1280) high resolution display, 16GB internal memory (2.5 GB of firmware, 2 GB of phone memory and 10.8 GB for media), microSD, micro SIM, 13MP camera, 1.3MP front camera, PlayStation Certification, NFC and MHL. The Sony Xperia TX will be available in three colours (black, pink and white) when it launches in select markets.

The Sony Xperia T has only just been announced, but there's already unboxing video for the handset.

I'm guessing 1.7-1.8k. Probably the same as Xperia S when it was first released.

The Sony Xperia T and Xperia TX flagships will each get their own TV Docks. The docking stations act as a MHL to HDMI adaptor and will come with a full-sized HDMI output to connect to a television. It will also have one micro-USB port to connect an accessory.

Each docking station is a perfect fit for the respective phones and has RCP to CEC translation, which allows you to use your TV remote to control the phone (as long as your TV is HDMI-CEC compatible). The dock will, of course, also charge your phone whilst you have it connected.

Yeah, and not to forget Sony's new Exmor RS sensor. I think next flagship of Quad Core will use this new sensor.

If not mistaken only TX will be available in Malaysia...

Yeah too bad, T is for Europe market only, but hoping it will make its way to Malaysia as well, just like XPERIA Ion that was for US market initially.

Yeah, confirmed already S4 on T and TX. Can see from following benchmark, all three new models having the similar performance.

China isn’t only the first country to get hold of the Sony Xperia SL (LT26ii), it can now add the much anticipated Xperia TX to that list too. The handset is now available to order via the Sony Style China website in all three colours (black, white and pink), where it is available for RMB 4,298 (£425, €537, $677).

The Sony Xperia TX and Xperia T will be mutually exclusive in terms of retail availability. For example, most of Europe will get the Xperia T, whilst many Asian markets will get the Xperia TX instead. Expect the handset(s) to make an appearance in most countries towards the end of the month.

The James Bond's goodies leaked out already. Can download here:

http://www.mediafire.com/?j90kx8dkbfxaf1e

The zip file has three 007 wallpapers that will work on any Android phone with 720 x 1280 screen resolution. There is also a 007 ringtone and snazzy notification.

I'm using it with my XPS. biggrin.gif

Not sure yet whether to get the T/TX to replace my XPS. But, just incase, for new T/TX owners who wants to take over the thread, just inform me. I'll close this one, and you guyz can maintain new thread.
