Yeah, its my first game with battletech, remember first encounter with the madcat. All my mechs were destroyed and mission failed. LOL

Yeah... I remember re-playing that mission several time to salvage the Madcat with everything intact.
Took a well placed arty strike to take it down.

I shot the gas tank last time haha. I remember finishing the campaign a long time ago and now im replaying it but with cheat mode because im too lazy to work hard for salvage haha

Haha, yeah, i shoot the gas tank too to get over the mission... only perfectionist will try to salvage. Pretty tedious to capture it. Now we wait for BATTLETECH.

lol... just wanted that MadCat.... at the point of the game, I think I only had light (maybe some medium ??).
The MadCat was the first truly good Heavy mech plus it's Clan tech.

I was surprised it runs flawlessly on win 10, mc gold that is.

having seen and used the madcat over periods of time and knowing its flaw
it can be easily taken down nowadays.

mad cat against light : against the timby of the lights, jenny 2C be too fast for mad cat unless pilot has fast reflexes
mad cat against medium: against nova & crow, both are more meta than mad cat himself
mad cat against heavy : may able to go against lolbringer but against the jaguar which is meta can be a little hard
mad cat against assault : both warhawk/whale can take him out face on unless pilot is cunning enough

reasonable build for mad cat
1x LPL 6x MLP (note that ebon can go 2x LPL, 6x MLP)
1x Gauss 6x ERML
6x ERSL 3/4X SRM4/6 (Mad dog can chew mad cat anytime assuming mad dog is master in delayed damage)

1LPL 6MPL : looks dangerously hot. 6MPL alone is hot and already eats a lot of the tonnage. How much armour are you putting on that thing? o.O
1 Gauss 6ERML : again seems to be eating a lot of tonnage of armour. You have 3 tons of ammo on this isn't it?
6xERSL 3/4X SRSM4/6 : Yeap seems meta to me

I run the following variations
3xSL and 2xUAC10s (Variable no of SL to UAC ammo ratio)
2xLPL + 3xML (variable to 4-5 if want to be hotter)
4x SRM6A + 5x SL (JJ + Ammo)
6/7/8x MPL (7/8 MPL need to time your shots to minimize Ghost Heat)

To me, any mech can be easily taken down if you know its weakness or you do not know how to utilize its advantage.

Against Lights: Most lights are already quite fast so its more important to keep map awareness and protect the back

Against Mediums: Against mechs like Nvoa / Crow, you usually have the range advantage. If they have same range, you probably have better firepower. For IS mechs, you have an advantage through their XL

Against Heavies: Clan Heavies vs Heavies is more about dismantling their weapons before they dismantle yours. IS mechs with XL would be a tad easier as you focus on the Side Torso. As a Timber, you also have a generally higher speed so could put those to good advantage. Mad Dog for example also have weak side torsos so could be dismantled easily before they can really put the hurt on you.

Against Assaults: Heavies cant really duke it out directly with an assault and win especially if its an Atlas / Dire Wolf. Use the Speed advantage to get good positioning / Range. I run lasers so I could shoot while on the move at range, makes it harder for dakka ballistics to hit.

I've a wide selection of mechs (invested quite a bit) but I mainly enjoy playing light
mechs. Any malaysian/singaporean clan active here ?

Need to fulfill my gaming needs since The Division doesn't cut it anymore for me.
An MWO comeback with the right gaming group might be just what I need.

If you mean active in LYN Forums, maybe not so much. I'm with a mostly singaporean clan called 5SSP (5th Straits Settlement Privateers), we're reasonable active during the nights after 10PM. More so during events haha.
