I've been frequently DIY installing electrical stuff (ceiling fan, lights, socket extension) in my house. All this while I've been using pvc casing, or electrical pipes to "conceal" the wires on the wall surface which, I think it looks ugly sad.gif

I do not know how conceal the wires in the wall, and wish I can learn from those who has done it before - the Malaysian version - from the brand and type of cement/plaster, water-cement-sand mix ratio, type of pipes (pvc?), depth and tools of hacking, anything else to look out for?

I also like to know how to conceal those dangling wires from the ceiling if I don't have plaster ceiling and I don't intend to put up any ceiling lights. I don't want to cut them away in case I change my mind later

Any solution? hmm.gif

hacking and concealing the wall is a pretty messy job. I suggest leaving it to the electrician.

Maybe can put a round box just to hide the wire. Example a look a like smoke detector shape.

For normal brick + cement, u need to use an electronic cutter... Exactly the same like those mosaic ppl using and a driller. I dunno the exact terms for the machine but hopefully u guys can understand. Usually electrician will cut into the wall a size slight larger than the PVC piping. Then use the drill to hack away the cement. Put cement and lastly white cement used in plaster ceiling.

i think u mean a electric diamond tip cutter those that they use to cut tiles one...

please no that the amount of dust generated cutting the wall to fit in the pvc piping is amazing better be prepared if you wan to do it DIY style...

and the other thing is a hammer drill to /knock/ out the cut valley smile.gif

then the rest is common sense fill it up back with cement with proper mixture let it harden apply plaster and sand it to smooth it out smile.gif

Rotary drill and diamond cutter. Wet the wall before cutting will reduce the dust but stillhour lots of dust.

Just don't cut other things in the process.

well u can use only hammer and chisel if you wan...

but i think u need 20x more longer to hack it then using power tools...

trust me... concrete isn't easy to hammer using a chisel... your arm will come off before u finish smile.gif

Normally for beams n concrete wall they wun do conceal piping. Applies to exterior wall light most of the time. U need to draw 2 vertical line big enough to fit the PVC piping then use the cutter to cut along the line. After tat only drill out the rest. It's very very dusty.... Saw my electrician do it... N ur neighbor wun be too please with it lol

Power tools make it easier and speed up the process. You don't NEED them. Hammer and chisel is fine if you're willing to do the work or if you have the time. If you're planning on getting one tool, get the rotary hammer IMO

A basic like rotary hammer drill is a must if you are DIY person. It help you to speed up the work and the quality of the work. Nowaday power tools don't cost you much.

I conceal wires in the wall, DIY way.

This is the only tools needed + wall plaster(No need to bancuh-bancuh. Just paste the plaster to wall directly). It wasn't really the correct way. By right, after making a hole, i need to re-cement that part before putting the final wall plaster.
