when in US dont buy souvenirs that contain liquid, although its little and its sold in the duty free shops in the airports.

my friend went there and bought about 400 bucks of stuff and all got confiscated.

well the regulations were pulled in around 19/11/06
thats when the ideas that liquid = bomb is being billed as laws which is kinda stupid and sux

well if u really want to get something with liquid (even ur plain water as a refreshment in the cabin...water in the plane aint gonna be trusted - trust me)
it must be below 100ml (this is the bottle im referring to...not the amount of liquid contained in that bottle)
and it must be placed in the specially circulated plastic bags by the airport securities

situations getting tougher especially in europe
but heathrow's the worst now

off topic...i think they are just all creating a riot out of the public
i mean seriously terrorists arent dumb
they arent gonna bomb the plane outright just by bringing in stuffs like liquid and claimed it was bomb
what if later some terrorist says his clothes are made of plastic-fibre-electron-nuclear powered fusion magnetic pulse bomb
then everyone wont be wearing shirts in the plane (cool but stupid)

well tips for travelling
depends on ur objective of travelling itself

1) pack enuf clothes
u wont be washing them unless ur there for more than a month and staying in a house or service apartment

2) get travellers cheques or credit cards
those with heavy wallets are just stupid enuf to attract the thieves and gipsies

3) one shoe for everyday walks, one for special occasion (optional), slippers and one extra takut the first shoe rosak

4) if ur muslim, bring in the praying mat bundled with the compass and the kiblat
im a muslim and travelling aint no excuse for me to escape prayers (although most are missed due to distances and laziness...cheh)

5) food...if ur non-muslim...eat in...especially if ur in countries like europe...outside food is so expensive they cud buy u a motorbike here
if ur muslim, cook
bring some things from home like chilli, serai or whatever u know the foreigner aint growing
do no take eggs along...customs'll seize it

6) have 2 extra bags ready
u'll be shopping
and even if ur not its for ur dirty garments and other stuffs
and chip in lots of extra plastic bags and newspapers to wrap things up

7) bring also cutleries (at least one for each category of cutlery)

8) get some books with u
travel guides are important
and novels too...just to keep u busy if ur staying in a country where english is somewhat alien
tapi in most countries there'll be MTV

9) never ever put ur money in ur pocket or whatever valuables
get a pouch which u can hang on ur neck
and make it short
some people can dash infront of u and cut under the pouch and another 'bystander' is just ready to snatch whatever there is that is inside

10) passports! always have them with u

11) never ever make fun of any unfamiliar faces around

there are more but these are just some
and they apply essentially to those who travel with families
not in groups or with their agencies and those sorts
hah
