For AirAsia, if my bag dimension is bigger than the hand carry allowable size, but the bag is soft so I can still squeeze it into the airport 'size measurement jig', is it ok to bring it onboard?

Slightly bigger? Or way bigger? But then, my laptop bag sometimes also like that as I stuff my jackets and my DSLR bag into the laptop bag as well. I can get through normally so it might not be a problem. But just for a note, my bag even with the camera and laptop in it is still considered light. It just looks bulky.

It's about few inches bigger in each direction, so in total it's quite big. But as only have garments inside, it can be squeezed to fit into the 'tester'.
