Something for you to note. In certain airports where it is very strict and overly cautious, they will tell you they need to break open the item or you leave it behind (donate to airport authorities), if they suspect something inside.
e.g.
safety boots / hiking shoes with metal plate inside the bottom-sole. They will break open to see if the metal is really metal.

soft toy - your doraemon/angry-bird/hello-kitty is as good as gone when they operate the stomach and pull out all the innards.

guitar - they may break to see the internal parts.

So, it's your call/risk if you really need to take the guitar along.
