actually you remind me of something very important with regards to mobile phones when travelling internationally: make sure that your mobile is supported at the region you travel to! Make sure its a triband phone at the very least; if its quadband, even better!
If you will be staying in that country for a longer period (more than 2-3 days) and expect to make local calls, then consider getting a local prepaid SIM card there. It will be a lot cheaper than getting roaming charges on your mobile bill when you get back home.As for health, consider bringing a supply of vitamin pills on your trip, and taking them daily. I usually bring multivit+minerals and vitamin C which I take daily. Also drink lots of water and keep yourself hydrated. Getting dehydrated increases your chances of falling sick. And if you are going to be getting it "on", don't forget protection! Better be safe then sorry.
