And I can precise they REALLY checked on the liquid policy in all the airports I have been recently (China, Europe, India).
I have seen people having to leave behind bottles of wine, shampoo or to quickly drink their tea in front of the custom.
Do not take any risk and just put everything in the checkin, you do not need Shampoo and co inside the plane. Ladies, your make up will be gone or all dried up because of the pressurization, do not bother about it before your get your bag back on the other side.
Do not think you can talk your way out of it, they seems to be really really particular about this regulation.
If you need medication and stuff in the plane, you better bring a letter from your doctor or something stating this is needed for the trip itself. Cough sirop will not do.

QUOTE(HW-Racer @ Apr 29 2010, 11:08 PM) do we get into trouble if bring travel kit (with medicines eg. BP Lab travel kits ) overseas... ?? scared the sniff dogs... Sniff dogs can make different between travel kit and drugs lar Just be careful about the no-liquid-in-cabin policy for quite a few countries now, might just be easier to let all your liquid cosmetic or stuff inside the checkin luggage depending where you go

Throw the package and all yes, thats the best way to make sure you arent bothered with custom.
If you sister is not happy tell her she is paying the taxes if you get caught at border....

Yep can confirm for most normal medicine it's fine as long as you do not go over the 100ml rule (at least for the countries I am aware of)
If you have some more "non normal" medicine that you know could get you some "interest" from customs, you better get some paper/prescription from a doctor explained you are required to take such.

QUOTE(pocketcctv @ Aug 7 2010, 08:19 AM) If that's the case, I believe I will need to get the prescription letter from the doctor for safety reason as those medicine is under controlled item. Thanks for the info, guys .. Btw, you will prefer to put inside the luggage bag or hand carry ? I would say better put in your hand carry so you can explain directly if there is an issue. In luggage they might rip it open to check. Putting in luggage got a bit more chance they won't check but if they do, the bag has quite some chance to be at least damaged... QUOTE(moyong @ Sep 2 2010, 07:44 PM) one question i'll be going to Shanghai end of this month for the world expo. Just wondering do i need to buy adapters as their power points may be different right? If yes, any recommendation as to where to get them ^^ Malaysian 3 pins (where the pins are in the triangle shape with the big middle one) won't fit everywhere but you can find some multiplugs that accept them in China The "normal" 2 pins will fit without issues almost anywhere. For adapters any hardware shops will have them usually, like I know I found some in 1utama in the big hardware shop near the taxi station, ground floor. Guess many other places got.

No worries, if you want to be super safe, buy a 3pin to 2 pin adapter in Malaysia and bring a multiplug along.
This way you use the adapter to plug the multiplug and can put any of your Msia devices to the multiplug, you don't need many adapters really.
