Woo release date
http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/07/nokia-l...ovember-launch/ November is too late IMO. iPhone, Motorola and HTC would have started selling in October. |

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Sep 7 2012, 09:11 PM) apa you cakap. Isnt the phones are running WP8 already announced?. They need another official launch for the OS only? If I'm not mistaken, yes. Just like when Microsoft announced WP7 along with all the devices, Samsung, HTC etc. There was an announcement for Windows 8, but it didn't mention the functions etc (info may be wrong). During the Nokia launch, either Elop or Balmer said something about the official Windows 8 announcement coming soon. And that is probably why most of the demo testers cannot show anything like micro sd support and new functions of windows 8, except live tiles. The dual core on Lumia is one generation ahead of current quad cores (something like that, don't know how to explain properly)

QUOTE(g5sim @ Sep 13 2012, 10:05 AM) http://allthingsd.com/20120912/smartphone-...he-competition/ What is L38? i5, S3 and L920 side by side comparison. btw how is it that S3 has a 2100 battery but claim 8hrs of 3G talk time and L38 with 2000 battery claims 10hrs of 3g talk time? Quad core vs dua core difference? I think the 45nm quad core achitecture in Exynos is less power efficient than the dual core 28nm Krait. Difference in battery may also be attributed to OS efficiency. On another note------- I think people are missing one point with Apple devices, which is the software experience. That plays a big role too despite the hardware. And for Aspire, the resale value too =) |

iPhone 5 is a huge for people staying within iOS, they finally have a bigger screen and built in panorama.
I expected Apple to introduce a new design that didn't look like the leaks and give some sort of middle finger to the leakers. That didn't happen. But what I absolutely love about iPhone 5 is that it has a metal back now. Previously I didn't give two hoots about 4 and 4S because I absolutely hate the shattering glass back. |

By the time Nokia release phone worldwide, Android would have refreshed the entire lineup already.
On non-related news, iPhone 5 expected by October 26 http://www.mmail.com.my/story/oct-26-date-iphone-5-30050 This post has been edited by Holyboy27: Sep 15 2012, 01:01 PM |

QUOTE(jonchai @ Sep 18 2012, 07:16 PM) They see potential in the ecosystem as a whole. Not just mobile, but many things as well. Can Android provide an ecosystem at the moment? No. (Checked) Can Apple provide an ecosystem at the moment? Yes. Is it open? No. (Checked) Hence, Microsoft is the most ideal solution to their problem. A wide range of ecosystem. Google understands this fairly well, introducing Chrome OS but it's met with fairly critical review of it's functions. However, it's adoption rate might increase in the coming years for some reasons. It's trump card, I think, is the Glass project. |

Even if we see Asian pricing, availability is another matter.

QUOTE(onomatopoeia @ Oct 8 2012, 09:20 AM) I hope Lumia will fix the image retention problem in most AMOLED screens - YES. The problem exists in all Samsung Galaxy's phone as well. Don't believe me? Just go to Samsung Shop or Nokia shop, check out the phone, open an app which display a full white image. Nokia is easier to spot by going into settings and change the background to Light. You definitely can see some dark spots, icons or the arrows. Galaxy Note and Tab is visible but not as contrast as Nokia due to their UI design. That's because apple uses LCD on their newer phones and all of their pads. Not sure about 3GS and older.Cant find this on iPhone and iPad though... |
