Ya.. they are the terrorist in the house.. My whisky always hunts for roaches and lizard.. if he sees one, he will never let it go till he have it.. So, now lately whisky is always behind the sofa, squeezing himself at the small little gap between the sofa and wall.. waiting for the lizard to show up.. everytime when we cant find him, will look for him behind the sofa.. sometimes he also eat mosquitoes or flies that fly ard.. it's so disgusting lo.. turning into a frog only.. eating insects... yuck

QUOTE(chrislyv @ Apr 14 2014, 01:36 PM) ya normally neutered dogs tends to gain weight. so food very important. can try those diet/special needs food from canine cavier.. He's taking Royal Canin Urinary S/O as recommended by vet. He has bladder stones and remove via surgery 1 year ago.. after surgery, vet recommended Royal Canin S/O to us. Previously he was even fatter, now we have reduce his food intake, controlling his diet. Other than that, he's still that hyper active and mischievous as ever..glad to see your jrts still looking healthy n strong at double digit age.. |

QUOTE(chrislyv @ Apr 19 2014, 02:54 PM) Ya, quite difficult to avoid. He had his stones remove 1 year ago.. Now he is showing symptom again. Check with vet, he said some breed are prone to bladder stones and may come back after surgery. We soley stick to Royal Canin S/O as it may help to dissolves the stones n make him drink alot of water as it is salty. Also changed his diet, taking fish instead of the ussual chicken meat. Hopefully he doesnt nd to go through another round of surgery as he's not young anymore.. He was a healthy dog up to age of 10yrs..no sickness. I guess aging is the issue..same goes for human.. |

QUOTE(chrislyv @ Apr 20 2014, 03:54 PM) hope no more operations.. how about canine cavier dog food.. heard it's 1 of the best.. i'm currently feeding mine with cc.. Hi Chris,Sorry for the late reply.. was caught with hectic work. I'm not sure about other brand of dog food. Royal Canin S/O urinary was recommended by my vet for my dog's condition. It is a prescription food where I can only get it at vet..not pet shop. Now my lil precious is taking Apple Cider Vinegar, 1 cap with his food. He used to take it when young, few bottles a year up to age of 3 or 4. Then we stop. Recently, we started back on ACV and it seems like his bladder stone symptom is reducing. So i hope it is helping him. |

QUOTE(1dollar @ May 2 2014, 06:33 PM) June Hi, my dog most of the time is on wet food. Since young, he doesnt like the dry knibbles. So what we did we soak it with water and some days we just feed him rice + chicken. Now, we have reduce his rice intake and feeding him the knibbles more, as recommended by our vet. This time we soak with lots of water, like eating soup and add 1 cap of ACV with it. He's okay with it. At least he has more water intake now. And some days we give him salmon canned food, for his fur coat. As previously he was having some sort of skin allergy, maybe overdose of chicken. Now we have stop giving him chicken and feeding him with salmons. Can see tht the fur coat improves but not sure its from the salmon or the ACV. As ACV also helps on skins as well.IMHO,.. try changing to wet food or home cooked food. Water intake doesnt mean it has to be from drinking source, cook stew, soupy based food to helps your dogs to take in all those moisture. |

QUOTE(ray86 @ May 14 2014, 03:18 PM) wow, just found this thread hahaha.. my husband said to me, the best time to have a JRT is when they are 10yrs old n above.. coz already mellow down. although still cheeky and notty, but slower pace.. I have a "small" JRT, maybe mixed abit, but every bit as naughty has any JRT.. adopted the fellow from SPCA last year. He used to be a monster but now a lot better already, learned a lot of tricks too |
