Can i cut and rejoin a thermal sensor?, to make it longer.. about 5 meters?

Dear sifu-sifu ....
I hope this is the right category to post. Anyway, i have a Digidoc 5 control unit, and i want to make the temperature sensor much longer, so i guess the only way is to cut the sensor wire and rejoin them with another longer wire ....  has anyone done this before? does the temperature sensor wire uses a normal wire? pls advice ...  thanks in advance...  |
