 Can i cut and rejoin a thermal sensor?, to make it longer.. about 5 meters?

Dear sifu-sifu ....

I hope this is the right category to post.

Anyway, i have a Digidoc 5 control unit, and i want to make the temperature sensor much longer, so i guess the only way is to cut the sensor wire and rejoin them with another longer wire ....

has anyone done this before? does the temperature sensor wire uses a normal wire?

can is same as some wire u must solder it to make it perfect lo!

may i know where u got the digidoc frm since they hv stopped producing it, coz frm reviews its a very good thermal sensor...btw u can splice the sensor wires, got the info frm folks who r in the thermal monitoring biz...altho they didnt specify how.

u can try to ask the electrical shop which will more suitable...... they more pro actually. but i think that normal wire already enought... the size of the cable is about the same!

I think that it should be a problem.....,just cutting and connecting back rite.....,about the type of wires i'd say go for the same type or similar looking( laugh.gif ) wires....
