But again...why do you need after sales service when your monitor is top notch quality and not giving you any problem at all ?
*
the build quality differs. dell's ultrasharp lineup has very sturdy base/stand

as for the warranty service, every monitor will face dead pixel anytime soon. if the manufacturer's warranty service sucks / does not provide 1 to 1 exchange / RMA, u might have to stuck with the 'flawed' monitor.

wait, LG series 7 has been released? hmm.gif

i am still using the old fat 15" monitor. so i think no matter how big or deep the stand, should be smaller than the body of the crt  tongue.gif ... i also notice garage sales section sell cheaper.. but i am from sarawak sad.gif ..after they incl the postage fee, i might better get from dell directly...  sweat.gif do  you know what is the premium panel mean?
*
if you're from sarawak, you can always order from niclasteoh

premium panel = better panel smile.gif meaning the color is richer and more accurate with a lot of customization options available.

dont go for the S-series. it is extremely glossy up to the point of being an annoyance.

for premium panel info, read here: http://www.dell.com/Learn/us/en/19/campaig...c=us&l=en&s=dhs
wrong, the complete word phase is "premium panel gurantee", part of marketing words.
it got nothing to do with better or worse panel. see above link

glossy screen is nothing wrong provided u have controlled light source, matte screen is all rounder for work horse but u lose some color which is crucial in multimedia playback
so instead of stopping ppl buy gloss screen, why not ask for ppl usage first?
*
Nah, glossy screen popping out better color is a urban myth.

It all comes down to the screen panel's contrast, range of gamut, etc.

If glossy = better color as what you have claimed, every professional monitor like HP dreamcolor or NEC or Dell Ultrasharp would have used glossy panel. Heck, even the legendary Apple cinema 30" (which is far superior than any current monitor apple has) used matte screen.

When i said 'premium panel', i meant the panels are already pre-calibrated according to factory setting which is better than the glossy S series. In fact, Ultrasharp series is one of the most 'flexible' monitors around (meaning it is compatible with most hardware screen calibrators)

And what Dell meant by premium panel = part of the superb warranty service, which is miles ahead than its competitors.

maybe u misunderstood my post.

PS: Ive tried both U series and S series monitors before, and currently im using U2713HM.

U2413 is Premier Color like U2713H. Yeah its about 1.5k

They suppose to launch later U2413M. Cheaper version with IPS only like U2412.

RM819 in Digital Mall. Con USB 2.0.
so far only on 2713H and 2913WM amd 2413 all have display port out.  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif
Daisy chaining.
*
so, based on ur experience on 2713H, how much improvement is the premier color version compared to the cheaper 2913wm?

read on this

http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2713h.htm

2913WM is the same as 2713HM on color reproduction

so u can read the difference of 2713HM vs 2713H.

2713HM
2713H
2913
Pros
1.2913WM has all the other stuff 2713H has except this two and has good panel uniformity (2713H seems to have a issue)
2.So far on bezel this is exclusive to 2913WM only. The design is different. Very thin plastic on the edges with a black bar of screen. Pretty cool as it puts the screen same level as bezel. No dell has this afaik.
user posted image
3.Movies lol.. great for 2:35 etc.. aka 1920x800,1920x 1040 etc cropped which most movies are
cons
1.Vertical lines 1080 instead of 1200 etc. This so far doesnt seem to affect me yet on the transition. Likey the 2913WM alot.
2.Cons movie 1920x1080p will have two black bars at the side.
*
oh lol, i assumed u own both unit, and i was talking about whether or not the extra gamut on the premier color units has impact on real life experience like better color during the movie or something to justify the premiuum several hundreds ringgit cost. tongue.gif yea, i do know the ratio thingy has its pros and cons. blush.gif

recently i just bought a ACER S220HQL BBD LED monitor ...
http://www.acer.com.my/ac/en/MY/content/model/ET.WS0HA.B01

to my surprise, when viewing image/video, the dark/Black area is very GLOW/GREY/glossy ... even i set the "brightness" to 0 and windows gamma to mimimum zzz, could not get the real BLACK

and the viewing angle is totally unacceptable ....

is my monitor faulty ? or this is the LED quality from acer @@ ?
*
u shud do a lil bit of homework before purchasing expensive stuffs like monitors.
the said monitor has 90° Horizontal Viewing Angle and 50° Vertical Viewing Angle. that explains the viewing angle. so i assume its a tn panel.
if you're desperate for a tn panel (i dunno why but i dont see the point buying tn panel), samsung is much better.

but of course i would suggest u to buy amva panel (which has great black depth) monitors like dell s2440l or IPS panel (which has the best viewing angle and color reproduction) like the dell U2312hm.

any triple display users can let me know some info regarding triple display ? I am planning to pull trigger to get the dell u2913wm and currently I owning two u2312.

if I use these display landscape mode, will it be too wide ?
is it using three identical display have more advantages ?

I am basically doing photos, works(multiple display is advantage), movies and very light gaming(20% of my usage).

I also wish to try gaming on triple display! so basically I am digging info regarding buying a same 3rd screen or u2913wm.

Btw if I go for the u2913wm can I know will i pushing the GTX660Ti to its limit?
normal games like dirt, borderlands 2, etcs will run smooth at that reso with alteast medium settings?
*
Ultra wide ratio is good for multitasking.

But if u're into movies, while most movies used the same ultra wide aspect ration, some movies especially those in imax format are better to be viewed in 16:9 ratio.

I believe gtx660ti is sufficient

My unit seems to show some noticable ghosting playing fifa13

Other than that the color is on par with its ultrasharp siblings. smile.gif

just got myself an old classic u2312hm laugh.gif

pre calibrated by shop, so the PQ is very good.

better than my previous s2340l, because u2312hm has better contrast ratio and higher nit.

Just bought a S2340L. Colours look unnaturally warm. No good for photo editting. Anyone has a simple fix?
*
if you are serious in photography, u shud invest in monitor color calibrator. around rm4xx can get you a decent one.

Hi guys, how does the Dell U2414H compares to the old Ultrasharps like 2407WHP & 2408WHP and the newer U2410 & U2413 ? ... strictly color wise.
*
almost the same, to be honest.

I would recommend u to get a hardware monitor color calibrator.

Do let me know if you found any 24" IPS monitor with lower respond time.

I would like to grab U2414H too but I am afraid the 8ms(GTG) ghosting will bother me.
*
no it wont bother u.

what games do u play?

I played Quake 3 (ultra fast FPS game) competitively on my old U2709 pva panel (which has higher ghost time) few years back and i didnt realize any ghostings that bothered me.

I am currently using U2312HM, playing CS and COD occasionally, no problem whatsoever.

I believe the screen quality on an IPS panel is much more worth than trying to buy a TN panel (which has far worse picture quality) simply because of the response time. To me, anything below 8ms normal. I dont see any noticeable diff 2ms vs 8ms.
