Q1) Can anyone suggest a full setup for gaming for ~RM3000. Includes monitor and keyboard/mouse (Logitech Combo G100?) but may exclude speakers for now. Hopefully I can get a future proof (~5 years) desktop.
Also, I don't need it now, maybe end of next month. Is there any new tech that I should wait out for ?

Q2) I have never built a computer before. Is it possible that I have the computer assembled by the staff at the shop I buy at ? I know most sifus here suggest buying especially GCs from the forum, can I bring that to the shop and have the shop people assemble the computer for me ?
How hard and time consuming is it for me to do it myself ?

Thanks man

For me to play games mostly smile.gif
Been missing out on a lot of games with a 3 year old laptop.
And hopefully this desktop can last me a number of years.

Do you plan to OC or go for SLI/CFX?

If no then, there are a few rm3k builds on the first page of the thread. Pretty good, check it out.

Probably no OC or any other advanced stuff.

oooooh, somehow it didn't occur to me to look in the first page doh.gif I'll take a look
Meanwhile, I'm not in a rush to get the rig, is there anything new in a month or two that I should wait for ?

Hi sifus, I have looked through the many lists and tried to adjust to what I want and my budget:

Intel i5-3570 (RM629)
MSI B75MA-P45 (RM224)
Kingston Value Ram 4GBX2 (RM124)
Leadtek(RM1120)/Palit(RM1299)/MSI OC(RM1299) GTX670
Seagate 750GB HDD (RM199)
Enermax 650W (RM269)
Coolermaster Elite 311 Plus (RM139)
LiteOn DVD Writer (RM60)
Logitech Combo G100 (RM78)

RM2842 ~ RM3025
Prices from the forum and Viewnet

Can the above work together ?
Is the motherboard good enough ? Any downsides ?
Of the GTX670s, are there any major downside to Leadtek over Palit over MSI? From the viewnet pricelist, is MSI GTX670 oc referring to MSI GTX670 Power Edition ?
What is the minimum can I go for the PSU ? Can I go as low as 550W or even 500W ?

Sorry, I have been way outdated with this. I just want something worth my money and not having to worry about it 2-3 years later.

Hi sifus, its me again tongue.gif

I'm still exploring my build. Hope you can bear with me and offer some advice

Intel i5-3570
???
Value Ram 4GBX2
GTX670
Seagate 750GB HDD
700W
Casing
DVD Writer

My plan now is to get a mobo that is sli-compatible even though I'm just going to get one gtx670 for now. Maybe in the future I can get another gtx670 if future games get more and more gpu hungry.
And what is the lowest PSU I need to get if in the future I'm going to do sli ?
And what about casing ? Still can use CM Elite 311 or the likes ?
No plans on OC-ing though.

Is it possible to get a rig like that for ~RM3000 ? Lets say don't need monitor and keyboard/mouse.

I'm also in the same boat as you. Have sent out few emails asking about this and these are the only replies so far.

PC Zone Computer:
No extra charge for CC, BUT
5% extra charge for installment of Maybank and Public Bank.
I got a quote from them for a 3.2k rig with a RM50 discount if you pay by cash rclxms.gif

All IT:
2% CC charge
3% AMEX charge
0% installment for Maybank, CIMB, RHB, Am Bank.

as for All IT. does that mean the 0% installment plan has no extra 5% charge?

I just typed out their reply to me.
Although, by my understanding it should mean no extra charge for installment with the above CCs, but should include the 2/3% CC charge.

Best to call/email them and ask, since I have not followed up as I'm not buying the pc that soon.
