I see, I thought there are dual core and quad core i5. Actually, i7 is suited towards which types of users?
PSU meaning power supply? He says it comes together with the standard casing so I'm guessing its the very generic type.

I went to a shop in digital mall Section 14.

I checked the price list:
Intel Core i3-3220 RM389 RM545
MSI H61M-P31 RM149
Kingston Value RAM 4GB RM64 RM70
Sapphire HD7850 1GB RM619 RM799 only got 2GB
FSP Hexa 500W PSU RM149
Lite-On 22x DVDRW RM59
Gigabyte GZ-X Casing RM59

May I know which shop your referring to?
*
there was a dual core i5 but its the lowest 2nd gen Sandy Bridge which no one will recommend here lolz so don't bother

that shou is trying to con you, the i3 is too expensive, value RAMs nowadays are RM60 and the HD7850 price has dropped to about RM600

better to get your rig from LYN GS's reputable sellers like Lingloong, Cyntrixtech and Zhen_wei or scout around LYP before you commit

Thank bro for fast reply!
Actually don't have special reason just because i used Amd.
I will consider to Intel since i saw a lots of intel combination advice, will refer to ur advice too.. Appreciated!
*
Going Intel is better at the moment and since you already intend to reuse the HDD you have, you could try getting an SSD wink.gif

tweak a bit from HoNeYdEwBoY's build

Intel Core i3 3220 - 379
Kingston DDR3 PC1333 4GB - 53
MSI B75MA-P45 - 229
Intel 330 120GB SSD - 319
FSP Hexa 500W - 149
Sapphire HD7850 1GB - 609
Bitfenix Shinobi - 220 (APES.my)

Total RM1958

viewnet prices unless stated

why dont add a few buck on the ram to get 1600 mhz? since the price range is not more than 20++
*
Yup, can be done that way as well nod.gif just note that there will be no noticeable difference in performance anyway so probably its better to go for another 4GB 1333Mhz stick smile.gif I just didn't wanna burst the budget tongue.gif

unless you're using the onboard GPU from the FM2 setup, you're wasting the potential of the APU

QUOTE(pds_disi @ Oct 27 2012, 05:51 AM)
Hi guys, i need some recommendation

[Budget] RM4500
[Purpose] gaming, bit torrent, movie
[Hardware that will be reuse from old rig] n/a
[Monitor resolution] 1920 - 1200
[Game or software that use frequently] any game, utorrent, media player classic, etc...
[Personal Preference Brand] any

Heres my own list:
- i5 3570 3.4Ghz --- RM 625
- ASUS P8Z77 V LX  --- RM 430
- KINGSTON D3 PC1600 8GB  --- RM 130
- OCZ VERTEX 4 128G --- RM 449
- W.D. GREEN 2TB --- RM 299
- Asus GTX670 DCU II TOP --- RM 1499
- Corsair HX 750W --- RM 539
- Win 7 home premium 64-bit ---  RM 279
- any casing --- RM 300 tentative
---Total --- RM 4550

Price base on c-zone, look like i am slightly over budget
- Is there any bottleneck item from my list? example the motherboard, I actually didn't know is that model really suitable.
- Can any item to be ''downgrade'' to reduce total price without reduce performance? example maybe can I go to corsair HX650W, is that enough for my usage?
- no intention to OC or SLI/CX.
- A whole new list are welcome, look at my sig  tongue.gif  you can know i am already detach from latest tech  icon_question.gif
*
overbudget by RM50 can nego with the shop to get discount bro wink.gif
not much bottleneck that I can see, no worries wink.gif
Yup, the Mobo & PSU can go lower.. the chassis too but RM300 seems rather standard for a good chassis nowadays.. the GPU.. maybe can consider a 660Ti?? hmm.gif

you can try the following spec

Intel Core i5 3570 RM624
Asrock Z77 PRO 3 RM329
Kingston Value RAM PC1333 8GB RM114
Intel 520 Series 120GB SSD RM419
W.D. GREEN 2TB RM299
Leadtek GTx670 RM1299
Corsair HX650W RM449
Win 7 home premium 64-bit RM279
Bitfenix Shinobi Window RM220

Total RM 4032

looks to me that you can go wild with a full tower or probably a closed loop CPU cooler whistling.gif

+1 for Chocobo7779's suggestion, allow me to suggest my version wink.gif based on what u mentioned, performance comes 1st then its aesthetics so here:

i5 3570-RM624
ASROCK Z77 PRO 3-RM329
Kingston 2x4GB Value RAM-RM106
WD Caviar Blue 1TB-RM219
MSI HD7950 3GB Twin Frozr III OC-RM1150
Seasonic M12 II 620W PSU-RM359
LG 22x DVD Writer-RM54
Cooler Master hyper 612S RM159 (http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/861287)
Samsung 830 128GB SSD-RM375 (Get here:http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1010580/all)
Bitfenix Shinobi Window Chassis-RM220 (APES)

Total: RM3595

Prices from Viewnet except where specified, can opt out the cpu cooler if cannot discount to meet budget, can always get next time wink.gif

IMHO the parts should look great together being mostly black and the modular PSU should contribute to the beauty of the chassis wink.gif

not recommended actually to take the pre-built specs from the shops, they tend to mix high performance parts with low end PSU or something like that tongue.gif

what's your budget?

btw,if i plan to future upgrade my pc,should i get a better mobo and lower the gc 1st?
*
not necessary to change the mobo, and it will be difficult since the chassis is for a M-ATX mobo anyway just swapping the GPU and/or CPU will do as an upgrade wink.gif

oic.. actually i want to get a mobo that support usb3.0.. what about asrock h61/usb3? ok ka?
*
should do the trick but just to remind you that the elite 343 chassis doesn't have front panel USB3.0 port... so you'd have to get a 5.25" adaptor should you want to stay with that one wink.gif

like so

Actually, besides the spaciousness available for full tower casings.. What else is the advantage?

Cause full tower doesnt seem very space saving at all

Mid tower is just nice thou
*
that'll depend on which full tower chassis actually but one thing in common for full towers are that they are able to support huge water cooling kits and support large-sized motherboards wink.gif

Take the BitFenix Shinobi XL that I reviewed a while ago, without modifying anything, you could fit dual 360mm radiators inside and still have room for cylinder reservoir and long GPUs with XL-ATX mobo support

at RM2K huh?? hmm.gif that'll be hard to get a good full tower... mid tower seems right for this budget, otherwise you'd suffer in terms of performance... try

Intel Core i7 3770 rm888
Sapphire HD7770 rm420
kingston value ram 8gb rm112
gigabyte B75M-D3V rm224
wd blue hdd 500GB rm168

*
whats your budget?? but if its just the B75 chipset you're after then can consider the MSI B75MA-P45 for RM229.. dunno what performance you're after as mobo doesn't affect PC performance much being in the same chipset

then any 1155 mobo that fits your budget & criteria will do actually... just consider these before purchasing

Socket type (should be 1155 at this stage)
Mobo size,
RAM Slots
Connectivity (Sata ports, Pcie, Pci, etc)
Price

Another forumer recommende ASRock Z77 Extreme and Asus P8Z77-M.

What about them? Are they overclockable?

I do not have good experience with Asus. Used to have a mobo and gpu, where both of them broke within 12 months of usage.
*
anything that has a Z77 on them are OC-able boards..

for me, I think 2x8GB is better choice. less stress on memory controller and 2 sticks of course consume less power than 4 sticks.

SSD go for Intel 520 for reliability and superb support service.
*
I agree on the RAM sticks, not too sure abt the stress and power but it'll definitely enable you to place a max of 32GB in the future

Intel supposedly have great aftermarket services so go with that wink.gif

im afraid it will be out of my 3k budget.

isnt the blu-ray player going to cost a lot ?

also want it to be bluetooth capable as i have a wireless mouse and maybe soon a wireless keyboard.

havent decided on motherboard and processor

can i go with intel brand for motherboard and processor ?
*
Ok.. you're building from scratch right?? do you need monitor??

Try:

Intel Core i5 3470 RM579
MSI B75MA-P45 RM229
Kingston value RAM 8GB RM114
MSI GTX660 RM849
WD Blue 1TB RM219 -> No need for WD Black, cost not justifiable for the minor speed bump
LiteOn BluRay combo 12x RM249
FSP Hexa 500W RM149
Xigmatek Asgard RM139
Win7 Home Premium RM369 -> no need ultimate and please install the 64-bit one

Total RM2896

Prices from Viewnet
