QUOTE(sickx @ Aug 27 2012, 09:20 AM) can Downing cut inside from the flank? because from what i saw last night, the inclusion of Sterling was because of BR loves flankers who cut inside. he got Sinclair and Dyer in Swansea. in Liverpool, the only player capable to do that imo, is Suarez. Downing and Henderson always hug the touchline. i won't be surprise if BR get another winger at the end of the week. We already have one in Assaidi. He loves cutting inside as well. BR probably signed him because of this |

QUOTE(hellfye @ Sep 2 2012, 11:27 PM) Owen is a free agent so does that mean if we sign him we can straight away play him? Or do we have to wait for the jan transfer window? If we register him by Tuesday then he can play a part and does not have to wait for January. And for F's sake, drop Reina for good. He has been piss poor since end of last season. I wan JONES and where the heck is Doni???? What the heck! P.S: Sterling is a god damn beast! |

QUOTE(hfi @ Sep 2 2012, 11:32 PM) Doni has gone back to Brazil .. some personal issues last i read. Reina has been sloppy. He should have used his legs for the 2nd goal. Much easier to drop to the floor and make the stop. But Doni is still a Liverpool player according to our website. Is he on personal leave or something?Anyway, QUOTE Rodgers was also asked whether he would consider a move for any free agents that were available, and names such as Michael Owen and Didier Drogba were thrown at him. He said: "Any player I believe can improve the squad I will look at. We've got a very small group, 19 players training yesterday morning, and some very young players in and amongst that. I can't say no, I always have to look and see where we can improve the group." Wont be surprised if Owen comes back |

QUOTE(bitebug @ Sep 3 2012, 01:26 AM) He is NEVER gonna be given a soft penalty and free-kicks anymore. He has this kind of reputation all the way back from Ajax. Remember the ear incident... At the moment, with the players we have, the best possible formation is to play Borini in center with Sterling and Suarez on wide.If we want him to start scoring, we need another striker up front or change the formation. Borini cant beat player. he should have played in middle as striker. With Aissati and Sahin coming in soon, I think the creativity will come good. Only the finishing is a bit worrying... We hit the post 3rd time now... |

QUOTE(kcmy @ Sep 3 2012, 01:38 AM) He'll get my respect if he performs consistently and be more clinical. chances are hard to come by nowaday and he didnt help by blasting the ball over whenever we have that one little chance to make a difference. A player only earn your respect if he performs consistently? SERIOUSLY?Wow, I am surprised. Then I guess player like Kuyt will never earn your respect then? Not only did he not performing consistent enough, his play is never beautiful to begin with. I respect him though for he plays with his heart and passion. |

Past is passed. What for keep emphasizing how we missed out those players? It could be tat we signed them and they flopped as well....
It also could be the case that we signed some relatively decent player that turned out great for us... Eg, Bellamy, Riera, Arbeloa.... |

QUOTE(dillonyong @ Sep 3 2012, 03:10 PM) Nope. Right after that, he was begging GH to sign him instead of signing Djibril Cisse. He was stuck in Mallorca and looking for a top club. GH spotted Ronnie first way before Fergie and Barcelona have their eyes on him but thought that he was overpriced as was the case with Cristiano Ronaldo. You have to know though that by the time Aguero, Young and co were sold to their current club, our club were lingering in relegation zone. We dont have that attraction to attract these players anymore. Thus, we went for lower team and poach their best player. That's why it cost us a bomb.Duff was clearly the better player than Kewell until Chelsea destroyed his career. We didnt move for him when he was nearing his last year of contract. Blackburn quickly renew his contract and quoted us $15 million. We got the speedy Diouf (20m), Diao (5.5m) and Cheyrou (5m). Total is $30.5 million. Brilliant piece of business! If you calculate the inflation rate of that investment 10 years ago, it would be equivalent to more than $50 million today. And last year we paid $35m (Caroll), $20m (Henderson), $20m (Downing), $7m (Adam) Combined damage of $82million Instead of $40m (Aguero), $15m (Ashley Young - he actually cost lesser than Downing, can you believe it?), $32m (Hazard). We gotta admit. We are dumb in business. Our scouts are hopeless as well. Plus, the likes of Downing, Carrol and Henderson are English, Thus the inflated price. Carrol was scoring goals for fun back then, taking down Arsenal and us. Henderson was easily the best young player around when he was playing for Sunderland. Downing was player of the year for Villa, scoring 10+++ goals for them in the whole season, even helped his team to beat us. The fact is, we bought them when they were in their prime and best form of life for their club. Thus, the club is unwilling to sell. Then, they quote us a hell of a price and with us having no other better option since BETTER players DO NOT WANT TO JOIN US (refer to Sahin case when he preferred Arsenal over us only to join us cos he dont want join Arsenal permanently).... At the end of the day, we have to be REALISTIC. If today, City sells Tevez for 4m pound, even if we have the money and can pay his effing wage, we have to be realistic that HE WONT COME to us... BE REALISTIC. |
