Personally, I would like to see Henderson stays with us. IMO he certainly got the potential to fit into BR's system. So far Shelvey has outshone him, but he's doing pretty good too against Hearts.

Let's the bygone be bygone.
As for our today match, I really have to say Stevie G hasn't cut it. Very very poor play from him, I think given his current age, his fitness can't handle 2 full 90 min games in a week. When you're given an AM role, you have to be dynamic and sharp of which Stevie G failed to do so. |

The fact that Borini is showing no form whatsoever isn't really helping the situation. He's brought in to be goal poacher, but hasn't been able to do so. Though, to be fair, we aren't really terrorizing opponents final third lately.
With Stevie G being out of his depth time and time again, I think BR should consider getting a quality AM to gradually replace Stevie G's role. Make good use of our limited transfer fund buying quality attacking midfielder/striker in the January transfer window instead of hiring semi-retired footballers. For the time being, I would rather see Morgan and Yesil given more chance to play in our first team than rather than hiring Owen/Del Piero/Drogba. I just hope BR could handle the pressure from fans and not resort to any short term solution or panic buy. On the positive notes, our youngsters are really showing great potentials, namely Sterling, Shelvey and the inspiring Allen. This post has been edited by Yluxion: Sep 3 2012, 11:19 AM |

It's pointless for us to look back at our signings and compared with those that we missed but have emerged and succeeded.
The fact that with every new manager coming in, the team is gonna start anew with different ideas and tactics and there comes the "tiki-taka" of player transfers. When you look back at our post Benitez era, the club nearly gone into admission. We could count our self lucky that FSG acquired the club and clear us off from heavy debts. It's a rational move this season that FSG is not pouring anymore huge sum into the transfer market. For the past 10 or 15 years, our transfers dealing has been lack of conviction & consistency of which causing a lot of damage to the club. Very often, we pay huge amount for players to come in and get little for players that left us. We have to be financially healthy before we can talk about making huge signings and pushing for new height in the league and European competition. Of which, the system already imposed by FSG and for BR to follow. We can't repeat our mistake and spend our way into admission again. So just let go of those high hopes and be real. BR is no magician and the young players he's bringing in, is not hard to think that he's building for the long term and future. It's gonna be a season or two before we can start reaping the desirable results |

Reality aside, I would be over the moon, if we can sign Ben Arfa as Stevie G replacement and Falcao/Lewandowski as our spearhead.
