QUOTE(Cloud0890 @ Aug 30 2012, 10:18 PM) Just rumours, I don't see this news appearing anywhere else yet. But he looks pretty talented to me. Germany is definitely the place to look for young attacking talents in wake of their recent resurgence. http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/87/germany/...einsteiger-meetFor such a brilliant gem, they are selling to us at only $1million? Is Comolli managing their finance? LOL

QUOTE(Petre @ Aug 31 2012, 11:14 AM) last day... maybe we should get a keeper. Give the guy a break. After 5 seasons of excellence, he is just having one of those days. He'll bounce back.

QUOTE(cherroy @ Aug 31 2012, 01:42 PM) Don't mean to criticise, it may be two days already. The first goal Mancity scored, I reckon part of GK fault as well, by coming out to punch but did not get the ball. Fine. Two. Still give him a break There are not many better goalkeeper than him. We need to score more goals. Keep missing chances is making me sick.

This is turning out to be an incredibly boring day. I was hoping to see more news on Dempsey, Sturridge, Walcott, Llorente, Ramirez or whoever.
But everything seems to have quiet down.

QUOTE(led_zep_freak @ Aug 31 2012, 02:39 PM) Thing about Reina is he's that rare goalkeeper that could receive the ball comfortably. Look at that Allen's chip pass last weekend, any lesser player would have fumble it but Reina was looking forward to it and took it down so well. He plays a pivotal role in the heart of defence. Introducing a new keeper for competition is a good idea but I believe it's a matter of coaching. Didn't he switch a few goalkeeping coach in the past few seasons? Class is permanent after all, hope he regains his form soon. dillonyong, it's only morning in the UK, be patient. I cant. I am getting nervous by the hour. It's D-day buddy. We need Dempsey to come at least. If we gotta wait till January, we are screwed.

QUOTE(Yuka Yuka @ Aug 31 2012, 02:55 PM) worry not we still have assaidi I'm worried because we are not banging in goals comfortably like we should. We are frustrating ourselves on most occasions. During Owen's time, goals came comfortably. During Torres's time as well. Plus the goal post curse is still around. We need a lucky fella coming in to put an end to the goal post curse.

QUOTE(max_cavalera @ Aug 31 2012, 03:34 PM) omg NO! hope liverpool cant afford to buy him! We're not buying him. We are borrowing. Apparently he fits into BR's plan because he is versatile enough to fit into multiple positions - ie: Wing, Attacking Forward, Centre Forward. Dempsey is still gonna come, I think.

The thing of it is, Dempsey provides sharp finishing. Suarez can take away defenders and open up space for him. I was hoping that Borini can do the job, but we'll see. So far, we dont have many neat finisher. Lots of flying over the bar and the side post. We've covered almost all areas except for finding a neat finisher. Hopefully, Dempsey can provide that and with it, allow Suarez more freedom to score as well. Added on August 31, 2012, 5:25 pmGosh! Fulham accepted the bid of $7million from Aston Villa for Dempsey. QUOTE(tiSSue_paPer @ Aug 31 2012, 05:48 PM) Hoffenheim have cancelled the contract with Ryan Babel by mutual consent. How did the most promising player of Holland in 2006 all of a sudden became the rubbish of modern football amazed me. Well, I guess Selangor Football Club would welcome him and he'll be a big hit in Malaysia.

Technically speaking, we are not doomed. As my friend says, the ball is round and 11 men may just do wonders when least expected. LOL. Ok. Don't kill me. Just trying to cheer everyone up.

I'm sure Suarez will score more goals this season. Don't forget he was banned for 8 matches last season or else he would have scored more goals. I'm confident he'll knock in more than 20.

I think we need to analyse carefully about the d-day failure. This failure may indeed benefit us in January. I recall that BR said clubs quote a higher price when they know we are interested. Clubs are treating us like gold mine after seeing how easy we pay for Caroll and gang.
Now they know we are able to walk away and won't be held to ransom. We may sign a player that is 5 times better than Dempsey in January without overpaying.
I think they refuse to let Fulham bully us with their asking price just like how we walk away when Sigurdsson's agent wanted more money.

QUOTE(Petre @ Sep 2 2012, 12:02 PM) i thought players are more expensive in january transfer window? anyway imo, why should we NOT spend a little bit extra if it helps our cause? i dont think there is any benefit in us doing that. in saving our face, we effectively lose out on a player that could be our problem solver. if its me, even though i dont like it, i'll pay for dempsey. extra 1-2m? its not extra 10-20m for God's sake. what goes around comes around. we dont need to be sooooo calculative with such small clubs. they want the 1m extra? let them have it. in the end they might get relegated who knows. now thats payback The press quoted 1 million more. In truth we never know what's going on behind. They may want appearance fee etc etc. I know we are desperate but I refuse to get bullied. Liverpool should not be seen as a club that can be easily ripped off. Our handling of caroll's transfer was the start of inflating prices being thrown at us. It has to stop.
