Guys,
I've a Kingston 120GB V+200, but i think it's not enough.
I'm planning to buy at least 256GB.
Is Plextor a good & reliable brand?

Hi guys,

Anyone here knows where I can get or if you yourself sell those half slim SSD? Looking for 128gb one but have been searching with no luck. Seems to only be able to find 64gb ones.

Thanks in advance.

U mean the 7mm width ssd, instead of 9mm?

Using Plextor M5P now, the best compared to my previous Kingston V+200. Go see the review at anandtech website.
Intel & Crucial also good.

seriously?  shocking.gif
size doesn't matter right? just the speed.. if say i just install os and some software i always use in ssd, others i rarely use i put in hdd
so i get ssd that's less than 100gb (cant afford too big de..), will i still get the same boot time?

haha, only managed to stop 2 programs..
*
Yeap. Size doesn't matter. Just look at the read/write speeds.

Hope that might help you for the moment before getting a ssd  brows.gif .

Well the speed of ssd less than 10 sec i seriously doubt too.
My boot time is only around 30sec, from the moment of pressing power button till I see my window with everything loaded.
all ssd size at 2.5" mostly, except msata.
As long as u dont get old gen ssd then the speed will be significantly faster than HDD.
*
LoL. Believe it. Mostly 10 seconds flat. Even faster than my previous Kingston V+200 SSD.

How to transfer windows 8 into SSD?
*
Use Paragon Migrate to SSD 3.0.
I used it and it went smoothly.

If you really do store nothing except essential programs for day to day use, then a 120GB SSD will suffice.
You get about 112GB of usable space from a 120GB unit. 20GB or so goes to the OS, leaving you with 92GB for programs, photos, music. Do keep in mind that some SSD's do get a little slower the more they are filled up.
Plextor M5 Pro units do not seem to have this issue though.

M5P ftw! rclxms.gif

True that. Altho I'm left with 5gb, still fast

i use SSD as a main drive and several daily tasks stored in the ssd

while big data such as games, movies, and software installer are stored in the HDD and located inside the HDD BAY. configured with hot plug, i simply disconnect the drive and turned it off while system is running when not using the drive  rclxms.gif

its brand is orico. it has power button so that you can disconnect the drive via 'safely remove hardware' and power off the bay without having to eject the drive to disconnect the power. there are many bay in the market but they did not have power button. user need to eject the drive to cut off the power.
*
Where did u buy it?
I'm looking for hdd bay, stacked, like yours. Too many 3.5" hdd laying around. =.=

Oh. I thought can connect thru USB.
I need a stacked HDD case that connects to USB, cause I'm using a laptop.

Something like this,

8 HDDs can fit it, 3 is enough, but that one is so darn expensive. Around RM800. sad.gif
