i may have a plan to integrate an msata to my current setup, by using gigabyte ez smart response, does it mean the msata will be for mainly caching for hdd? significant increase in overall r/w performance?

I cloned my Windows XP and 7 partition too, didnt do clean install as it quite hassle to redownload all the windows update, which is time consuming + slow.
For tweaking, just use SSD Tweaker http://www.elpamsoft.com/?p=SSD-Tweaker
will solve a lot of headache thumbup.gif

Trial, Pro version will not pop up iirc.
Or if you prefer to tweak the registry manually http://www.overclock.net/t/1133897/windows...-tweaking-guide
