Also according to corsair's websites it offers 5 year warranty but the garage sale posts only offer 3 years for their neutrons (not the gtx), is that just because we're Malaysia?

I'm hoping you guys can answer my question. I've been looking at newegg pricing, 120gb SSDs like Intel 330, neutron, crucial m4 and samsung 830 all have retail price about 120usd but they mostly sell around 100usd now. Plus shipping to malaysia thats only about rm325 more or less, whereas local vendors are selling these, except the intel 330, around rm360-400. So would it be recommended to just ship in from u.s because it sounds like a very good deal? In fact as of right now the OCZ vertex 4 is going for only 99usd from the rrp of 139usd.

Under tech specs first thing they say is 5 years. But yeah you guys are probably right about the RMA issue, iirc newegg malaysia told me some warranties are even voided if brought out of US. I have to clarify with them first |

QUOTE(ketapang @ Sep 6 2012, 08:54 PM) Before you buy any item from Newegg, make sure you ask all about the warranty of that item. Because there's an item when it shipped outside US, it will void the warranty. I already asked them (Newegg Malaysia) about Samsung product, they say Samsung didnt state any void of warranty if shipped outside US. And you must know that in order to do RMA, you need to send back the item to US which is quiet a hassle (at least for me). And you need to pay half of the cost for shipping back to US. Idk if I can do RMA through Samsung Malaysia since mine its not local unit. Alright thanks for all the reply guys. I guess it's just RMA issues for ordering newegg. It just sounded so tempting, the neutron for rm330 that comes with 5 year warranty, I had to come clear doubts If you just want to be safe, you better buy here @ local store. But you do need to fork out some money though since the price is quiet higher than offered by Newegg. But look on the bright side, you can 1-to-1 exchange if anything happen to your ssd in a week time & its easier for RMA purpose. I'd probably will wait and see for a while more I'm sure SSD prices will just continue to drop and I'm in no hurry to get one until the end of the year. Also gotta wait for the neutron series reliability reviews |
