just wondering...
a friend of mine said that SSD will die faster if we copy & paste files from SSD to removable HD/FD or delete & restore files too much. basically, he said the more we write on the SSD, the faster it dies(compared to HDD).
it is true ?
p/s: 'm just another noob

simple questions, 1)how much is a 64, 128 & 256 gb SSD now? -any brand. 3)what the acceptable surrounding temp for SSD? -my room is a bit hot (28~33') 2)I also wondering does the rm250 student voucher (from gov.) is applicable for the purchase of SSD. - last time, xternal HDD = yes

QUOTE(Yagami5159 @ Apr 26 2013, 08:30 AM) Unless you connect the drive on a SATA II port, otherwise there's no bottleneck by using the mobo you've stated...well not that I can think of. I just replace HDD with SSD. so is it bottlednecked? A43SV asus Notebook. This post has been edited by ErgoProxi: Apr 26 2013, 09:50 AM

just asking. How much will be the expected price of a SSD in, let's say 2 years time? 'm using SSD(kingston v300 120 Gb) now and I fell in love with it. However, 'm worried about my extreme (very heavy internet user) usage may shorten it's lifespan and need replacement in 2 years or so. 2 years is the usual lifespan of my drive (my experience with HDD 5400rpm). p/s: can't life without ssd as primary drive.

QUOTE(christcwl9 @ Apr 30 2013, 10:30 PM) Is there any Asus N53SN user here? How to check whether my laptop support Sata 3 or not? I am planning to buy Intel 520 series 120gb SSD. ur chipset is same as mine. so, support la. source: QUOTE(hanny562 @ Apr 26 2013, 01:27 PM) I don't think your laptop won't bottlenecked your SSD. Your laptop is using Intel HM65 Express Chipset , and Intel HM65 Express Chipset supports SATA III connection http://www.intel.my/content/www/us/en/chip...ipset-hm65.htmlp/s: ain't an expert.

QUOTE(christcwl9 @ Apr 30 2013, 10:55 PM) Ok thanks bro BTW, may i ask what are the very very average lifespan of this SSD ? What do you all mean by the lifespan will shorten if we browse internet alot with it @.@ p/s my HDD (2years) still very healthy So i am wondering if i buy the Intel 520, will it last me 2 years+ at least as well? I download a buttlots of data ( games , movie & shits) & video streaming a lot. 'm using SSD as my C: drive. so, all my temporary files(win,IDM & browers) in there. in a nutshell, temporary files/data write on disk & I got lots of temporary data being write(& delete) on daily basis. QUOTE(hmwgbworld @ Apr 30 2013, 11:11 PM) You can try set the directory of your download client to your HDD drive, this may help I think because I'm downloading like 2gb of files everyday too. me 'bout 10gb per day of downloaded data( streaming & downloads)

QUOTE(hmwgbworld @ Apr 30 2013, 11:14 PM) Yup SSD for only OS, temp files and important programs, but I'm not sure if this helps or not. In theoretically, reduce the write data into the ssd can prolong its life. I dun wan to plug-in my xternal HD 24/7. p/s; tried to set the directory of download to SDcard but it's damn slow ( when transferring from temp dir to SDcard). my lappy got SDcard slot.
