Hi guys! Penangite here. I just inherited a 2006 kenari which I am currently outfitting for my fishing activities. Hope I can get some advice from the guys here.

My question: does anyone know what the load capacity for the current roof rack is?

I am deciding if I should add bars with a modular roof rack system to the existing roof rack on the Kenari, or go with an entirely new system.

If the existing rack is capable of holding a decent load, then Ill just go with adding bars with a modular kit. Hoping this is the case.

Thanks in advance for any info on this! smile.gif

how bout total brand? i agree use  5w30w is ok but when go highway cannt tahan
*
why can't tahan?

i am using 10w-30 on my car for the past 9 years without any problem, i used to clock 5k km around 1-1.5 months. based on the tolerance of the engine, it is 30 and running 40 will be too heavy for the engine

till today my engine still run smooth

Hey bro, i replaced my rocker cover 2 months back which cost me RM 250 using original part and labour included. So far it has solved my problem of engine oil leaking to spark plug area.
Mine is due to replace as well. Im going to go for brembo disc as it is relatively affordable. By the way, i am using Myvi brake disc and calipers.

sent the car to the mech odi.. and indeed he blame the fake oem daihatsu eng mounting

http://www.mudah.my/Daihatsu+Engine+Mounti...8486.htm?last=1

bought from this guy.. he claimed this is oem original daihatsu.. thats y i get this part.. so between trw and schmaco with 1 is most recommended..
*
i'm using schmaco mounting for my birdie, 2nd set change last year. first set change at 2010

my birdie is 11 this year

Hi all

Am looking for an small upgrade. I wish to upgrade my crank pulley. there are few brands in the market eg zerone, works engineering & aerospped.

May i know:

1) whether the original size lighten crank pulley will give better response to the driver, hence more power?
2) any drawback of these lighten crank pulley eg wear off the timing belt easily
3) anyone using one now?
*
i'm using a LCP since 2010 on my manual birdie, weight around 4xxgm and the stock is around 1.2kg if i'm not mistaken. it was custom made according the original pulley size

the response in pick up was slightly faster and feels lighter, wear and tear is just like normal

the only drawback is the car does not have enough momentum when going up a slope but usually on higher gradient, lower gradient should not be a problem as i regularly have some touge drive with few of the guys who is also driving birdie

Bought it from Half cut Jepun.

Interestingly the owner also drives a kenari.

He told me, He changed the injector with toyota 1.5 (dun know wat he's talking abt)

and the car drives like a sport performance car and save petrol summore.  rclxms.gif  (I just think that's a bit  mega_shok.gif )
Oh the wiper..I'm already getting from this fella, half way nego already. thanks for the offer.

I tried to get clear answer from him, he was quite reluctant.

I said, you mean you change fuel injector and asked what model toyota compatible......didn't say anything, he just say it's a trade secret which some half cut people may know.

Anyway I think there are many ways for upgrade Kenari performance,

upgrade to YRV 1.3 Engine.

upgrade to Open Pod Air Filter

Use Fully copper grounding cable.

Use Fully Synthetic Engine Oil.

Use iridium Spark Plug

etc etc
*
wow!

i didn't know a car can drive like a sports car by just changing the injector

that guy sure was very good in mods

got my auto transmission replaced year 2015. rm3k all in, good labour price, in the view of workshop; expensive in another word, let's hope they've done a good job.

i've it replaced by myself actually, halfcut auto transmission, flywheel oil seal, torque converter oil seal, 2 drive shaft oil seal and a few liters of ATF. then after 10kkm, ATF filter and 3L of ATF. all in nearly rm2k without labour.
have you service the car?

15" is not the major problem, may i know what size of tire the car is running?

my Kenari auto 2006, virgin engine, exhaust is the only thing not original. full tank can go 250km at least, 330km max. full throttle whenever i drive it.
audi tail lamp, never see before, i'm interested to have a look, at least to gain some info.
strut bar won't help in sampan ride, suspension does.
intake and exhaust system won't gain significant hp for Kenari. it's more like fine tuning and everyone have different usage.

problem, come tt with us, next tt tbc.

cheers!

I think it's time a tt...
