I juz finished the online assesment last part but unfortunately, i was unable to complete all the problem solving (calculation) questions..18 questions in 18 mins..wow..that was fast..but i oredy submitted and said they will give notification by emel if i pass the assessment.the question is, do i still got a chance for the next stage even if i didnt manage to complete the last 18 questions?  sad.gif
*
Don't worry too much about it. I completed only 15 out of all the 18 questions but I still manage to pass it. With some help from lady luck of course haha. Now I'm scheduled for an interview next week..so have some confidence in yourself! Good luck.

It takes how long between the date u finished the online assessment and and the phone interview.
*
I got the confirmation email on the very same day. Did the online assessment early in the morning and got the mail afternoon. But I think its just so happen that they were checking the results that day since for like zephyrus' case it took them 14 days to reply. Anyway its f2f interview for my case, probably its because I stay in KL.

QUOTE(AVREEL @ Mar 9 2013, 11:54 PM)
hi,

last two week i got a phone call interview (sort of) from SBSC Malaysia (shell business service centre), asking me on what i am doing now, what is my expected salary and so on.

After managed to answer those questions, one week later, i got an invitation for attending an interview (SRD) from them and I went to the interview, and been told that I was a shortlisted ones meaning that I able to get through the interview.. Then they said they will give me a call within two weeks (today is the 3rd day).

The question is; did I get the job? Why must use "shortlisted" term if I manage to get the job? Is that possible that I did not get the job? If so, why they must inform me during the interview that I succeed the interview?

Help !!
*
Sorry dude I don't think I can help you..@@ Why don't you just give them a call to clarify instead?

I have no idea why different... Mine 18 questions was like "I'm the person who is:" then rate 4 different criteria from 1-5... i din see decision making, problem solving typed of questions...

Kinda disappointed with the assessment system... haven't got to my resume already regretted.

That's online assessment part 1. Competency based questions. Pass it and you will have to do online assessment part 2, decision-making and problem-solving questions. Pass it and you will be invited for a phone/f2f interview. And then SRD if you do it good.

No comment on whether has your resume been studied carefully, but the last time I applied for internship in Shell, I couldn't even make it to the online assessments. So you should have passed the resume first-stage screening IMO. Cheers and probably better opportunities are waiting for you ahead!

Don't worry...the f2f interview is very easy...at least mine was...just speak from experience and you will pass...

If you pass, we might meet at SRD...too bad I can't make it for the 1st session...maybe joining the 2nd session...
*
Hi! What did you mean by 1st session? Have you been invited to your SRD already? Mine is still pending since like 2 weeks ago.

Frankly speaking I think I did quite badly for mine. Panic like shit..but still manage to pass it with a lot of helps from lady luck haha. So have faith in yourself! Just do your best and things would definitely go your way!

Anyway mine lasted for about 45 minutes. Good luck!

Awesome. After sending an email enquiry i received an email telling me they would like to invite me for an interview. It says a "scheduling coordinator will contact you in the near future to make necessary arrangements"

Does anyone know the process for this? I am currently overseas so will they call me out of the blue and start interviewing or would they call me to schedule for an interview at a later date?
*
Congrates! Yup they will e-mail you soon and let you pick the time slot..at least that's what I experienced. It was a f2f interview for me but things should be the same.

Seriously??? LOL this is unexpected. Best of luck to both of us then. biggrin.gif Are you going to drive? The briefing package keeps stressing that alternate transportation method is recommended. Makes me thinking twice on whether should I take public or not hmm.gif

kind of weird, instead of calling me, they send me an email with a redirect link to pick a schedule for my interview, and my interviewer is from (comm and tech?) meaning i am going to get an interview about an IT position?

oh crap...dont really wish to be in IT anymore after the experience that i'm having now at my current company sad.gif

anyway...attending the interview next wed, all the best to myself, and hope that no more programmer job!!!

btw, where is shell house KL? reachable by public transport?  hmm.gif
*
Yes that's how they let you pick the time slot for your interview. The normal procedure. And no whoever interviewing you has nothing to do with which department you're heading to. Usually they will encourage you to take LRT to somewhere near and then take a cab from there, but driving is a much better choice honestly. They will reimburse your expenses for the SRD round but not the interview. So good luck and all the best!

....it has become a habit in Malaysia for people to give preferences to their own race and SHELL is no exception. My interviewer was cold as an ice...attended it this week.
*
A typical example of self-serving bias. It has become a habit for most people to point their fingers at someone else and whine for their failures, instead of doing some self-reflection and think about what you should and could do better.

Anyway, best of luck if your interview result is not released yet. But bear in mind that race is never a factor to excel in any competitive environment. Capability is.

Can anyone please share their experiences of SRD?

I hear that they have a self-reflection interview this time. Does anyone know what they ask?
*
Self-reflection based on an activity you have done earlier on the SRD. Don't worry too much you don't really have to prepare for this. Probably can't too. Good luck anyways!
